I am using your quote that no one could take Tyson out in five rounds. True, it took only four rounds for Danny Williams to do it. Just read your own quote. It makes no mention of an old Tyson so I take it you meant at any time of his career.
Tyson twisted his knee ya silly B******.
Boo hoo, Derrick Jefferson broke his fucking ankle and wouldn't let the ring doctor inspect, let alone stop the fight for a couple of roumds til the ref decided that jefferson sitting on the ropes had no chance of winning
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
You are all crazy if you think Tyson would have a snowball's chance in hell vs BIG George Foreman!
Tyson wouldn't fight him in the 90's much less if he was in his PRIME!!!!
Tyson was rocked in his prime by Bruno!!! FUCKING Frank Bruno....Foreman doesn't hurt people and let them get away from him!!!
Tyson-Norton would be the one to watch, Norton carried big power but didn't like punchers.
Tyson-Ali is a bit closer than Ali-Patterson, just cause Mike was bigger than Floyd but he'd eat that jab and upper cut all night.
Tyson-Frazier would be GREAT! Frazier by UD though, he could take it and dish it out and his heart kept him in all of his fights except the ones with Foreman

Why would Tyson fight him in the 90s? He was in prison. And when he got out, George already got his @ss beat by Axel Schultz. Tyson beats all on that list except Ali.
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
Um no if you remember the ENTIRE decade you would remember that Tyson got out in '95 and had the oppertunity to fight Foreman but was too scared to.
I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to fight George NOW!

sorry
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
ali and foreman would get the better of him
ali by UD
foreman by ko
a prime tyson could beat frazier and norton however
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
Tyson v Shavers- Tyson KO in a firefight but Tyson's defense and counter punching would have knocked out Shavers on a counter.
Tyson v Lyle- Tyson KO, because Lyle was powerful but was open for straight rights, and Tyson had a very good straight right hand and Lyle had tendency to stand still and pose before he fired shots he would wait and thats when he could get caught in the shots. Lyle would be coming forward and catch Mike a few times but Tyson would get him like he got Bruno.
Tyson v Foreman- This would actually be one of Mike's easier fights and I'll tell you why. Mike Tyson was a very good counter puncher and had very good defense, Foreman was a monster(for his weight lol) But George threw very wide shots, shots from left field, and he would be caught in between those shots by a faster fighter, and Tyson was a fast fighter and he would catch Foreman in between those shots with his counters and then duck or slip back from them. Foreman would be caught walking in a lot and would be stopped late in the 11th round.
Tyson v Frazier- Tyson would win this fight via decision, a lot of people want to make a comparison between Frazier and Tyson when their styles are completely different, Tyson would catch Joe with the combinations as Joe would answer back. This would be a very close fight but I think the body punching of Tyson would wear Joe down, nobody back then hit as hard as Tyson with a single shot, so when Mike put combinations and counter punching with it he was a thrill to watch.
Tyson v Ali- It depends, this fight could go to decision but Ali at that time was winding down and it depends what part of the 70's, I see Ali winning a decision hitting Tyson with 1 2's and then tying him up. I see Ali winning a very very close decision but also swelling Tyson's eye with his jab.
Tyson v Norton- Tyson first or second round KO. If there's one thing Norton couldn't handle it was non stop pressure from a big puncher. Ali would charge at Norton and catch him in between his feints and get Norton in the first or the second round.

i have to disagree foreman would be 2 much for tyson--tyson was ko by douglass--so just imagine what foreman can do 2 him--tyson aint known 4 his chin---foreman is 2 big 4 tyson---he would clobber tyson and ko him in 4
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
Foreman was too big for Tyson ::** They both weighed 220. Foreman was KO'd by Ali, so just imagine what Tyson would do to him.

The topic was prime Tyson, the Tyson that fought Douglas was no longer in his prime.

Look at Tyson, compare him to Frazier then look what Foreman did to Smokin Joe and tell me Tyson could survive that!
Tyson was KO'd by Holyfield...you know the guy everyone said didn't punch hard enough to be the best heavyweight out there
Re: Prime Tyson in the 70s
george foreman would win because he has his own grill,a man with his own grill is unbeatable.
