The REAL shame would be to see a talented boxer throw it away by turning to drink/drugs and not being able to do his fighting in a boxing ring.

Buchanan and Lynch were better than Harrison but all that aside, your sentiments are spot on!

As much as I agree with what you say about Scott needing support, you're extremely naive to think he is anywhere near Buchanan's level.
The fact is Scott has the most world title defences because he has never faced opposition of the quality that Buchanan faced.
And this is coming from a huge Scott Harrison fan. Personally, I'd say Alex Arthur is the best fighter we have at present.
Re: Scott Harrison's Treatment by the Press and some fan's a like
CLYDEY 2 I don't know how you can possible say that Alex Arthur is better than Scott Harrison, what has he acheived in comparision to Scott Harrison. I tell you nothing. Arthur is 27 years old and has not fought for a world title, and he'll get hammered when he does. He is a European class fighter at best, who's he beat of note. Did Arthur not say only last month that Harrison is too good for him at present. Scott Harrison won a world title when he was 24, and has careers wins over a lot of world class boxers like Mendina, McCullogh, Steve Robinson, Hussein, Tracey Patterson, Chacon. These are all boxers that have been world champs, and did tell me what world champions has Arthur beat. Only 1,000 fans at his last fight in Edinburgh, just shows how much the people in his own city think of Arthur. Arthur talks a better fight than anyone, but pity he does not show it in the ring.

Mate you are obvioulsy Harrisons biggest fan, but them fighters you have mentioned he has beaton were a mixture of has beens and gate keepers, Mcullough was 4/5 years past his best, Medina beat Scott when he shouldnt have in the first place who also had seen his best days and had been exposed numerous times previous, Robinson????? was shot to pieces about 3 ears earlier and Chacon who the hell has he fought, Scott has fought no one and his hardest opponent to date would of been Guzman but that never happened for a champ who has held the belt for 4/5 years its a pretty average list of opponents, go and check what Buchanen has done and you will see Scott isn't in the same league. if Harrison would or did ever step it up he would of been exposed in my opinion there has been so many opponents in and around his division over the past five years why has he not fought any greats???? there must of been at least 3/4/5 future Hall of famers he could of fought but kept to figthing has beens and to be honest sub standard opponents.
Re: Scott Harrison's Treatment by the Press and some fan's a like
Clydey 2 you still have not told me of all these great fighters Alex Arthur has fought, and isn't he trying to get a fight against Mendina who is three years older than when he fought Scott Harrison. You say Harrison has not fought greats, but was he not at ringside in Las Vages the last time Barrera and Morales fought challenging the winner to a fight live on American television. He even said for them to choice the destination and weight they would fight at, but both Barrera and Morales backed out. He has also offered Marquez numerous fights which agaian have been declined. As for Guzman he ran away because he was scared, plus he could'nt make the weight, even for his latrest super featherweight fight. He looked really quick with fast hands but he slaps instead of punches, he's a cheap mans Prince Naseem.
Re: Scott Harrison's Treatment by the Press and some fan's a like
no one can really judge him about his drink problems. no one knows the sircumstances and no one is perfect. except floyd mayweather (according to some of you posters on here)
Re: Scott Harrison's Treatment by the Press and some fan's a like
Harrison has to be one the most overrated fighters in boxing. All his wins against name fighters are tainted. When he beat Tracy Patterson, Tom Johnson and Steve Robinson they were beyound shot. Harrison looked huge against Wayne McCullough who was fighting 2 weight classes above his best. Manuel Medina actually beat him. And so did Victor Polo. Only Polo had to settle for a bullshit draw. Harrison says he wants to fight the big names, but he dosn't seem to want to leave his home town to make those fights happen.

I wasn't at the PC. maybe that's why I didn't answr you immediately. My sincerest apologies.
And I'm not judging how good either fighter is by their opponents. I see Arthur simply being able to do more at the highest level. Not only is Arthur a natural puncher, but he is a classy boxer with a fantastic jab, who is improving in every fight.
Honestly, I'm a huge Harrison fan and I think he'd give anyone a good scrap, but he's just too slow and one-dimensional for the likes of MAB. He also lacks head movement and that will be his downfall when he steps up. Harrison has a lot going for him though. He's strong, has a fantastic chin, relentless and he his body punches are underrated.
The only thing that concerns me about Arthur is how slowly he starts. It takes him a good 3 rounds to warm up. That could cost him.

You actually remind me of the way I defend my fighters or used to. I used to get so wound up when I would defend Harrison. I remember after the Victor Polo fight and after reading these forums, I fired up MS word and knocked up an article in 15 minutes because it got to me so much. Here's a few examples of how big a Harrison fan you're dealing with ;)

Frankly I hold Buchanan and Lynch in higher regards because they established themselves as the rightful champions in their divisions. I live in America and just a few months ago Ring had a photograph of Buchanan as he looks today so I'd know him if he passed me on the street. And every boxing history book I have that was pubished here has a photograph and section on Lynch. Heck I honestly thought that Harrison retired after his second fight with Medina. If he has accomplished so much how come we don't hear about it in the states unless it is something like??? Not trying to run him down, just he needs to get his act and head together and really take on the best. Like oh say Chris John, Marquez...
Re: Scott Harrison's Treatment by the Press and some fan's a like
I'm kind of glad Guzman didn't fight him now, because Guzman would stil be waiting for the fight. Would have been a one sided affair anyway

Guzman pulled out because he couldn't make weight. It had nothing to do with Harrison.
And it would have been anything but one-sided. Guzman simply doesn't hit as hard at feather and super feather. His workrate is appaling also. It would be a close fight
