One thing not to forget is Calzaghes hands though...THey can always be a problem, it's a small intangible with him. if he hurts it at all before or during the fight then he will be in really tough against Glen, and that will definetly have an effect.Quote:

I think Calzaghe is an awesome fighter but it is impossible to say he has peaked unless it is said retrospectively (as in years retrospectively),...unless yiu truly believe that JC is the epitome of boxing prowess
The guys 33 years old, he is what he is. He won't improve anymore. The Lacy win was the peak win of his career. His downfall begins.Quote:

Me, I'm stuck travelling at the speed of time (tick-tock) ... so I appreciate your perspective. Hey ... you ever run into Dr Who?
What other big name you think he can beat? Tarver? Johnson? Who?Quote:

calzaghe by unanimous UD....
I don't know - we'll find out. I like Joe fine but I wasn't bragging on him or anything. Maybe he won't beat anyone again, and then your words will prove to be true.Quote:

I suppose that could be used as evidence of a decline - although it may only be that he's facing tougher opposition.)
And he's 34 now, not 33. Not only has he begun the inevitable decline from his best moment in boxing, he has also aged, in less than three months.
tick-tock ...
Sorry gotta disagree with you there 3rd fight against Tarver Jones still has faster hands than Calzaghe, and does hit harder its just he doesn't have any steam, or determination, and more important a chin/reflexes to get him by.Quote:

Calzaghe by UD, he won't knock him out. Only worry if that Calzaghe believes the hype, when he beat Lacy he was in the perfect frame of mind, he was being knocked by everyone as a dodger and had something to prove big time. He was also very aware that Lacy was dangerous, so he had a bit of that fear factor keeping him focused and on his toes.
If he is fighting Johnson I'd be very impressed, after all the speculation that he'd fight a 'tune up' he's arguably facing one of the biggest challenges out there, certainly a bigger challenge than Beyer and as tough if not tougher than Kessler.
Let's just hope also that JC makes the weight properly, not just by doing less conditioning.
If Joe doesn't get up for this he's in for a LOOOOONG night.
Glen is a tough guy, he can take punches and his work rate is incredible...TOUGH TOUGH fight
I'll agree with that 100%Quote:
