I don't agree with that - yeh some of his opponents were not at their peak, but Robinson was WBO champion, Vasquez was WBA champion, Johnson was IBF champion, Medina, Kelly and Mccullough were former world champions - I don't see anybody he could've fought and didn't except Eric Morales and that fight never happenbded coz he lost to MAB
i dont believe he was a fake , i think was revolutionary knowone had ever seen a fighter like him at the time, his main flaw was that he was to cocky and abandoned his defence which ultimately led to his defeat against another great boxer. i think nas started believing that he couldnt be beaten, believing his own hype which was a shame ,i still think he was great at that time but he could of been a legend

Hamed is only seen as overrated by those who did not like him when he was boxing. When he was finally beaten everybody said look he wasn't that special anyway. 16 title defences would say otherwise, and the fact that at various times he held 3 of the 4 major belts. If it had been anybody else without the abrasive personality of Hamed he would not still be attracting this kind of abuse years on.
Naz had 15 straight TITLE DEFENCES....how could he be anything but a great fighter?!?!?! That is one of the highest title defences EVER!!Quote:

It didn't turn out that way. So in a way even his religious devotion, another strength if you will, became a weakness, when Marcos made it so.
Too bad he didn't have a Manny to round him out way back when. He mighta been - sorry, just got to say it ... he mighta been a contender!

Hamed was Great.
But he has the potential to be GREATER. And not many if any fighters can say they had that type of potential. Thats what the frustrating thing about Hamed is.
And Manuel Medina who Naseem knocked out years ago is getting a title shot tonight and going ffor his 89th win on WNF.
bIG H you list all these fighters that Naseem beat but if you think about it he get's great credit for beating the likes of Tom 'Boom Boom' Johnson and wayne McCullough then on the other hand someone like scott Harrison beats them both and we get told there not that good, so yes I would say he was overratd because he get's more credit for beating these opponents than other boxers like Scott harrison have because they are not as camera freindly.
