Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
:coolclick: for the analysis mr wacko!
you raise some excellent points both in favour and against the possibilities of a hopkins win....im definately moving more in favour of a hopkins win the closer fight time approaches....
sure, b hop got outworked by a younger fighter in JT who was able to work more over the 12 rounds than hopkins could (and i even think hopkins did enough in the 1st fight)....hopkins hasnt slid all that much when consider he is 41 years old...
i think tarver has been chosen for good reason. he is not in his mid 20's and is himself in his latter 30's. tarver cannot work hard over the course of 3 minutes a round for 12 rounds. hopkins is possibly in better condition than tarver is.
i really think tarver will come out trying to get hopkins out of there as early as possible. he thinks he can just throw hopkins around and finish the job ASAP. i dont think so. i expect hopkins to come out and be hard to hit for the early rounds. trying to lull tarver into stalking him, into throwing bombs, sometimes even waking tarver up with his own right. hopkins might even steal a round or 2 as i think tarver will be a little rash and careless.
tarver will NOT KO b hop in 6 as he has suggested. in fact i think the championship rounds are where it will be won or lost for either guy. tarver definately has stamina issues. if hopkins can wear tarver down through sheer elusiveness then hopkins can begin to pour it on some. he might eat a few, and i think he can tolerate that, more so than jones jr for sure. but hopkins will begin to outland tarver in these rounds and i can really see hopkins having tarver in problems. if a gun shy jones jr can hurt tarver down the stretch, expect b hop to apply a little more pressure win more brownie points....
im going with bhop by decision....
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
Tarver's one of the best 175 pounders. But his ducking of the other champions and masking it with "big names" it seems like he'd rather retire after this fight IF he wins having beaten Roy and Hopkins and he thinks he will get into the HOF but I don't think he deserves it just beating them two.
Like Rasheed Wallace said "Even the sun shines on a dog shit every now and then."
And I'll add on.. but it doesn't make it stink any less ;)

hahahah,nice post,CC. ;)
CC Wacko,I am looking forward to this weekend big time! I see Hopkins losing the early rounds,Tarver running out of gas and Hopkins stepping it up later in the fight. I totally disagree,Tarver is an ass,and remember,he is 1-1 with Glen Johnson. As for Cotto and the weigh in,Paulie was soooo confident before and also, the more weight Cotto puts back on,the slower he will be right?? Is Paulie's camp already making excuses. Like I have maintained, this fight is a good test for my boy Miguel,to see how he deals with a mover and if it goes well,it will be an indication of how he will deal with Mayweather.I want Cotto to really dig Malignaggi to the body,I want to hear the noise of the body shots!
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
I say Cotto is gonna catch big mouth and stop his ass with a wicked body attack. I also say to you B-hop fans who are doubting the Executioner. Have some faith people. Bernard is the better fighter. Tarver goin thru hell to lose all that weight, and is quite inactive himself. Bernard is very capable of winning this bout, him breaking that promise to his mother does worry me a little though. But like I said b4 Bernard has done far worse things for money than lie. Lets go Bernard, shut the big mouth up once and for all!!! :action:
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Maligna
As always a good analysis wacko. But the :coolclick: you're getting from me is for starting a saturday night drinking session on the previous tuesday!!!
Definitely want B-hop to win, even though it would ruin the autumn showdown for my man Calzaghe. I'm worried about his weight and age, but I'm starting to believe he'll do it now, although I have no arguments to back it up. ;)
Hope Cotto wins to and convincingly, so we can see a big fight for him in the autumn.
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
You are absolutley crazy, with all the leather flying in both fights your keyboard will be smokin
:coolclick: for your ambition to share these fights with everyone on the boards. I'll be throwin back rum
shots readin the drbr².
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
Koneeeecheeeewaaaa! After last weeks fiasco I just hope that these fights come off, Cotto's always casts doubt and with Tarver doing his rocky thing, it doesn't make things easy. I think that is Bernard's big thing he can clutch onto, a late stoppage/domination with the tarver stamina problem. Thats my prediction, I'm sticking by it, B-hop wins. However I won't be watching, I'll be on what sky has decided to show us, thats Cotto vs Malignaggi, I'm gonna be away for this DRBR so I can catch the fight later without catching the result but all the same have a good one folks whichever fight tickles your fancy and cheers big ears! :beerchug:
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
Two fights at the same time? Commentary on each fight as well as watching them? :coolclick: to you every day of the week Wacko you crazy motherfwocker!
Although Im looking forward to it immensely, Im not going to analyse Cotto v Malignaggi in depth. Cotto will knock this guy out of the ring and land his head in Row Z. This may be the first ever decapitation broadcast in HD people! ;D
As for B-Hop v Tarver, which Im not getting over her in England. I see B-Hop winning, and maybe even causing Tarver to quit. Tarver is going to be drained from dropping all that weight he put on for Rocky VI at 35. Ya'll dont remember what happened to Roy when he ballooned that high and came back down?? And Tarver is no RJJ. B-Hop will be in much better condition, and we know his defense is beyond question, avoiding Tarver's "bombs", which should be travelling at the speed of a salad towards James Toneys mouth, will be no problem.
B-Hop UD
Cotto KO 4
Keep it up Wacko! And if the wife moans about the cable bill, just ask her "what did the five fingers say to the face?" ;D

Use common sense not a fans eyes and the hate for another ;) Same kind of scenario in the Castillo fight except Cotto would make weight. What would you say if Castillo came in 154 the night of the fight to fight a Corrales who got up to 142 ???
It's the fighters safety it aint an excuse. It's a health risk. Think Gatti Gamache ;)
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Maligna
Can't wait for Saturday, should be an excellent night of boxing. I hope Hopkins wins only because I want to see someone shut up Tarver.

Ya damn right Starr :coolclick: for being the only one thinking straight.
This is why they should go back to same day weigh ins. Whats the point of wieght classes if you can have guys be two or more apart on the night of the fight?!
Re: Wacko's Double Whammy Drunken Round by Round Tarver vs Hopkins/Cotto Malignaggi
Same day weigh ins are also dangerous to a fighters health. I think the weigh ins the way they are right now are fine(could be a little later depending on the fighter) But I think this whole 4 extra hours is a but too much!
