Re: Hatton vs Cotto a Possibility Perhaps??
To say hatton doesn't do well against puuchers is ridiculous! Look what happened in round 5 of the Kostya fight, Tzsyu caught hatton flush on the jaw with a huge right hand, however hatton just dropped his hands, looked at Kostya and came foward with another attack.
Hatton vs Cotto at 140 is definately a fight hatton is very capable of winning.
At 147 i don't know because cotto will be strong at the higher weight!
Re: Hatton vs Cotto a Possibility Perhaps??
cotto would beat him up pretty bad--cotto is more of a 147 pd fighter anyway and we've seem how ricky does against more natural 147 pounders--and cotto is a different animal than the last guy who kicked ricky's ass--collazo

Won't matter if they fight at 140 because by the time of the fight Cotto will be alot heavier. And besides Cotto has more punching power than Collazo and if that 12th round had been any longer Hatton would have been picking himself up off the canvas.
Hatton was in trouble for maybe ten seconds of that round after which he reasserted himself and went back to chasing Collazo round the ring. Collazo was clinching and running for most of the fight which is essentially what cost him the decision. To suggest that Hatton struggles with punchers is nonsense. Hatton struggles with southpaws because of the clash of styles and Collazo was effective while stepping backwards, and because Hatton wasn't adjusted to the higher weight his punches were less effective than usual but the way that people talk about the Collazo fight you would assume that Hatton has only had that one fight on his record.
You have to remember most people outside of Europe have only seen that one fight. I don't remember Cotto running, I remember Hatton coming in and clinching. How much of Cotto have you seen though? I don't know where all this talk about him being more of a 147 fighter is coming from. 23 of his 26 fights have been at 140, 3 of his 26 were at 147 and those were early in his career. Don't listen to Hatton's crew talking about Cotto, they are not speaking the truth, he is not struggling. Did Hatton beat Collazo, yes. Would Hatton beat Cotto, NO (at 140 or 147). Cotto had a similar situation against Torres, he got knocked down, but then he knocked down Torres 4 times including a KO. In all of his fights combined, Cotto has been knocked down once and staggered once. The both fought Maussa and Cotto knocked him out one round earlier. Cotto has a higher KO percentage, Cotto has 2 inches in reach and height. Does Hatton have a chance against Cotto, absolutely albeit a slim one.
COTTO 11th round TKO

I have seen quite a few Hatton fights and he won't be able to muscle Cotto around like he has done other opponents.
