Re: The heavyweight division as strong as ever?
Today, there is no dominant heavyweight. period.
Wlad Klitface to be a legend? give me a fuckin break....he got his ass beat legitimently by Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster............... unlike Lewis who instead got unlucky losses which came from lucky punches. Add the fact that Lewis was able to win in dominant fashion in the return matches.
Also, none of the heavyweight champions are fighting each other like the 70's where you had one heavyweight champion of the world not 4.
Lamon Brewster, Sergio, fat boy James Toney? These guys would not have survived in the 90's..
The writer is an idiot. Nuff said

Brock, Peter and Sergei don't compare to the young upstarts of recent generations. They just don't. Interesting concept for an article but it's just to tall of a task to convince anyone that this is any sort of a heavyweight golden age.
My sentiments exactly ;D The clown that wrote this must have been hired by a PR firm who has been contracted to improve the current HWs justifiably horrible reputation!!

There is talent out there but it does seem as if everyone is waiting for the next Ali.
I get so tired of everyone always blurting out the same old tired cliche about the "weak heavy division".
Lets just watch and see what happens.
We HAVE been watching & hoping ever since John Ruiz took the HWs to an all-time LOW when he won WBA crown & it has gone even FURTHER DOWN!! Valuev, Brewster, even current best HW Wlad has been exposed by 3 very ordinary fighters---Puritty, Sanders & Brewster!! ::**
Re: The heavyweight division as strong as ever?
heavyweight fights these days are shit. it was around ali's time when heavyweight fights were good
