Which rounds did Taylor win? And I'd like to see all of the power shots that Taylor landed. I saw plenty of hard shots come off of Winky's gloves... and some power shots that came off of his gloves and grazed Winky... should we judge those punches on their innitial power? Or the power that was present when they actually reached Winky's face?
And I'm not a dramatic Winky fan. I admire his defense being a boxer myself. I think he is good and has worked hard to be where he is today. That being said, I'm no Taylor fan either.
I am willing to bet that the members that you would miss... the likes of wacko, starr, miles etc. will agree with my opinion on this matter.
You guys jumping to these conclusions about me shows how willing you are to make a decision regarding something you know little about.
That was a quick few days

Good argument there! Ya there are more 'analysts' who say Winky had scored more shots, but on the other hand, there are more who say Taylor had stronger punch. So there, I think in the minds of the judges, they cancelled each other out, if you know what I mean. Simply put, Winky hit Taylor more but Taylor hit harder. I think that's why the decision wasn't so controversial after all.

I cheer for my fighter no matter what the stats say, but stats are stats and they decide the winner.
I am able to watch a fight... even one involving my favourites and be unbiased... just keeping track of the stats. How can one watch that fight and in the end say, "yep... Taylor won that." Meanwhile Taylor can only see out of one eye, got outpunched throughout the fight, and once again could be not confident in his 'win'.
Boxing... why the hell do we love it so much when it is so damn corrupt and puts us real fans in a state of disapointment more often then not? When it comes to the score cards, we aren't just left thinking about the statistics... we have to factor in future ppv buys, public image, the overall good for boxing, home-town advantage etc. It is really sad.
Go ahead Taylor lovers... call me a whiner. I would say the same if Taylor beat Winky and Winky got the decision. As much as I like any fighter, I love the sport more.
I very much sympathise with you, mate. I find it hard to not lose my temper on here sometimes.

What are you talking about? it was fatigue. if you hadn't noticed, most people think Winky won the 12th round. What does that say about Taylor's approach to the last round?

Who is most people? Most people in your house, neighborhood, in your head? Whatever the case was, Winky's corner told him he had the fight in the bag, so he chose not to fight. His fault.
I don't think Taylor won, I think the draw was a good call.

Most people who have commented on the fight.
Winky's corner told him that he wins the fight if he wins the last round. I love how you conveniently invented some memory of Dan Birmingham telling Winky to coast.
Taylor was less active that Winky in the last. Care to answer the question: what does that say about Taylor's approach to the 12th, since you're so critical of Winky being gassed in the 12th?

I believe most people who have commented on the fight view the draw as being adequate. I've read about 9 news stories that talk about it being and appropriate draw, and on the poll that I put up on this page, more people believe either Taylor won or it was a draw.
As for inventing something, I might be wrong, but I thought I either heard or read that his corner told him that he had the fight won. Either way, it doesn't matter. Taylor had a flurry in the final round when Winky was content to run when he should have fought. If he was gassed, too bad.

On your poll, 10 people think that Wright won, 7 people belive Taylor won and 7 believe it was a draw. There you go inventing things again.
Also 43% thought Winky won on the HBO poll to, I think, 26% for Taylor and the rest thought it was a draw.
So yes, it seems the majority believe Winky won.
And what does "If he was gassed, too bad" even mean? If he was gassed, that's why he didn't close the show, thus you're being unjustly critical. And we both know that Taylor did almost nothing in the last. Wright landed a few shots and, to most people, won the 12th. Taylor didn't close the show either. Why aren't you criticising him? Or is it like everything else you've said in this thread, and simply convenient for your argument?

I'm not inventing shtuff you douche, the combined number of people who either think it was a draw or that Taylor won, outnumbers the people who think Winky won.
It doesn't matter whether he was gassed or whether he just ran for no reason at all, he lost the 12th round regardless.

I had Winky winning by 115-113 but it could of been draw too,it was great fight and IMO didnt think neather fighter won last round,10-10. What I did not like it was HBO crew it was just simply BS on there part,I did watched again today with mute and fight was great, credit to both Winky and Taylor. I would love to see rematch. ;)

simply put, its all the lemmings that listen to Jim Lampley as if his word was law. Jim said it came down to the 12th round, so thats why there is a mindless discussion on the insignificant 12th round. In my opinon he had the fight won by the 10th. I am not going to say taylor did nothing, but he deffinately left his skills in the locker room. he was CLEARLY frustrated by the 3rd round, and just gave up on his jab all togather. he kep banging away at wink's gloves, and occasinally got through. It wouldnt have mattered if wink or taylor won the last round.
On a side note, I appreciate Jim's point of view, but he just calls fights as HE see's them, rarely as I see them.
