Now...that being said...I aint saying that I'm not a Taylor fan...I just don't think that he won that fight...or the first Hopkins fight. The second one...yes.
Taylor has room to grow...but only if he concentrates more on boxing than being a KO artist.
Taylor is a damn phony who let Lou Dibella dry hump him! He DID NOT win the second fight either. I give him credit for bein so young and havin such close fights with Hopkins and Winky. That is something. And he is talented, but he did not beat either of them. Ever.

I thought the first fight was a draw after first watching but then I changed my view after. I think he won the second fight.

I beg to differ. In the second fight, it was nearly identical to the first, although B-hop did not hurt Taylor as bad down the stretch, he did win more early rounds and thus deserved the victory IHO.

:D Amazing post, couldnt agree more CC, how anyone can knock the kid is amazing, he fights hopkins twice and winky, talk about a rough path to take, the kid is scared of no-one.

I totally disagree,I don't think Winky or Taylor are similar in any way whatsoever in the ring.Taylor is likeable honest and a gentleman but had he not had the power advantage,he would not have got that draw.Winky landed more,and early on,it was difficult to give JT any of the rounds,most of his shots were being blocked,whereas Winky was landing flush early on,his timing was awesome. The nly thing I was dissappointed in Winky and JT stated this,was that if you are going to go for someone's title,you have to fight the FULL 12 rounds.Winky didn't fight the 11th,possibly giving the title away.
And no way is he their equal,against Hopkins,he looked amatuerish at times,particularly in the first fight and again,in the Winky fight,nice combos but hands too low,and he was the bigger guy but was backed up waaay to easily.He gets my respect for the fights he has taken and he is a great ambassador but on that night,I thought Winky won.

The point I am trying to make is Taylor seems to be under appreciated at the moment, by some. Much like Wright was in the mid/late 90s.
Wright was only appreciated by the masses, when he was 30+ years old, and I would not like to see the same thing happen to Taylor.

I still disagree,those 2 are under appreciated for different reasons,JT is respected by most as a great sportsman and a good fighter but come on,3 fights,3 close decisions and he gets ALL3!!That's not under appreciating,that's flattery. He deserves credit for the fights he has taken but he has been flattered by at least 2 of those decisions,and like I said,he has sooo many things to work on,there's only so much credit you can give him and I say this as a guy that likes him.

Man, I'm disapointed in you. I respected your knowledge of the sport and still do but you are giving Taylor too much credit. He is not on the same level as Mayweather, Barrera , and damn sure not Hopkins. He has had three close fights, with two great fighters. But in reality, he probably should have lost all three. The draw wasn't a horrible decision or nothing, but he definately didn't win the fight. And the reason he doesn't get a bunch of respect is because HBO has force fed him down hardcore boxing fans throats at the expense of two great fighters, stealing one of the best MW's titles in the process.
