Altough I don't believe for a second that Winky actually lacks confidence, I'll answer this question. I think Winky engaged Taylor because he is a good enough boxer to know that his distance would be a key role against this competitor. If he had tried any other method, he would have either had his guts stomped out, or the fight would have been a snoozefest due to a lack of activity.
Exactly, but had he been a coward with no confidence, he would have never moved forward.
heres the thing.............im a big winky fan (less so after the postfight fiasco, even the most die hard, winky can never lose a fight fan cant say this was wright/vargas again) but damn, at worst the fight was a draw (i had jt up by 2) and i had money on winky going in.
i said he has no confidence NOW, AFTER THE FIGHT.
he was confident going in
but not coming out.
jermain is the real deal, theres a reason why winky wont rematch (the same reason he wouldnt talk aout rematching vasquez)
i am sold on jt....hes number 2 in my stables of fighters (behind pbf)now, because of the fight
Winky has no confidence in the judges, not himself...
Winky won the fight and at worst should have earned a draw....and lets not go counting out a rematch until the heat of the moment has died down....
Yeah I would be really surprised if Wright went Hagler on boxing and didn't fight a rematch. But your first statement was about as accurate as they get. Click.
Thanks Amat, clicked ya back
I dont buy into any of this HBO conspiracy jargon as well actually, but I do buy into a lackadaisical judiciary...

Neither do I. I didn't buy i for the first two B-Hop fighs either. But you know that HBO is in Winky's head.
And Frozen Solid I clicked you.

That doesn't even make ANY sense now that I actually read it. What are you talking about just over 3 punches a round excluding those 3, Jermain could have outlanded Winky by any margin in any one round it doesn't matter... Your arguement is because Winky outlanded Taylor by 90 punches in 3 rounds, Taylor must have averaged just above 3 more then Winky every single other round, to bring the count down to 60 ??? Are you like 10?

if winky has so much confidence, why doesnt he want a rematch?
he was all kinds of confident going in, but not after the fight
probably a good reason
Damn good reason ;)
GL: After the fight you said no rematch. Do you still feel that way?
WW: "Yep."
WW: "Let me get this right, I ain't mad at Taylor. I'm mad at the judges. It was bullshit and we worked too motherfucking hard to get where we're at and do what we do for some motherfuckers who never been in the ring and don't know what it feels like to dodge a punch show favoritism because of where we're at and who the fighter is. He's an HBO fighter with an HBO coach and we on HBO. They're not supposed to be biased their supposed to judge the fight for the fight."
uhh last time i check winky is a hbo fighter too...just take the rematch and accept the draw...it was your fualt (winky)you didn't win not the judges...

i guess youre retarded, since youre the only one who got all confused. so allow me to break this down into simpleton terms, so you can understand it
are you ready........? stop chewing gum because we now know you cant chew gum and think at the same time, so here we go...........
winky outlanded jermain by 60, or something, punches over the course of 12 ROUNDS
In 3 of the rounds that WINKY WON, he outlanded jermain by 30+ punches in those 3 rounds alone
that leaves 9 more rounds where winky out landed jermains shots by 30 total
get a pen and some paper...................ready?? here we go
divide 30 by 9...........
if it comes up somewhere between 3 and 4 you are doing good
so...
are winkys 3 or 4 extra punches/jabs more effective than jermains right crosses, hooks, uppercuts, etc... etc....?
is it getting clearer now??
do i need to be more thourough?
please, let me know

thats all.................
Re: PUNCH STAT BS............EXPOSED!!!!!!!!
::** that's what I wanted to know... All you did was take the estimated remaining punches that Winky outlanded him by, and average them out, as if he was only landing a few more punches every single round.... It doesn't work like that, because there were some rounds where Winky didn't outland Taylor, that was my point.... you took 3 rounds where Winky totally dominated Taylor and outlanded him by a wide margin.... So therefore Winky wouldn't need to win more than 4 of the other rounds, where he could also have outlanded him by a decent margin assuming he was outlanded in the rounds Taylor won. Hey, at least you figured out how to get your new calculator ready for school.
Re: PUNCH STAT BS............EXPOSED!!!!!!!!
The fact that you scored the fight for Taylor by 2 rounds should really say enough about who's retarded.

wow......
this post was meant to prove compubox numbers dont mean as much as a lot of people are saying after the jt/wright fight
but you are helping me prove my point, so cc for you ;D
Re: PUNCH STAT BS............EXPOSED!!!!!!!!
You were trying to use the punchstats as a reason TAylor won, because Winky outlanded him by alot in 3 rounds, so Taylor must have outlanded him in most others.. If anything, the compubox numbers in general were ridiculously generous to Taylor, and most certainly counted endless shots that were blocked... Winkys punches were way cleaner all night, and he easily won more rounds.. That's all that matters.

so winkys weak jabs were more effective than jts shots?
nope........ a good fight that jt should have won, but since WINKY is an hbo fighter and has the biggest fan base he got a draw.
if he won the fight he'd be willing to rematch just like jermain is.
its called confidence......jermain has it, winky doesnt
there must be a good reason, right??
oh cuz winky is certain he will get "robbed" again, right? ::**
thought so.
long live the middleweight champion
JERMAIN "BAD INTENTIONS" TAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO OORRRRRR"
CC, you were kind of all over the place, but I agree with you. Just because Winky outlanded JT by 60 doesn't mean he won the fight. If Winky outlanded JT by 30 punches in two or three rounds, he wins those rounds hands. It doesn't mean shit in regards to the other nine rounds scored.
Re: PUNCH STAT BS............EXPOSED!!!!!!!!
He has a valid point... one person could outland another person by 60 punches in 3 rounds only and have the other person outland them by a few punches ever other round, and their punches are harder... the person who lands more in the most rounds is more effective.

He definitely had a hard time, it was a competitve fight no doubt. I don't think Winky ever denied that. You seem to think Winky is alone in his thinking that the decision should have gone his way. You're wrong ;)
And you're assuming now.
actually i thought winky should of won the fight...IF he would of listen to his corner and finish strong in the 12 and fight for every second of the 12 round...after experincing a bad decision with vargas you'd think he would of learn...and leave no second of a doubt that he should win...
did you notice how low winky was keeping his hands in the 12th?
who said he would have won that round........i think if winky stepped up in that last round hed have gotten beat
thats why he went AGAINST his trainers advice and decided to run the 12th
Winky did more then Taylor in the 12th. Or did you miss the announcers for the first 2 minutes of that round asking themselves why Jermain wasn't doing a damn thing. rewatch the 12th ;)
