Zeus would survive 5?!!?!?!??!?!
I'd like to see Joe C face the winner of the Kessler/Beyer fight in the spring. Nothing says legend like unifying the division. Otherwise I'll follow the band of sheep and go with Cotto/Hatton, Klitschko/Valuev and my own addition, McCall/Valuev, after he knocks out a few more bums (comment applicable to both boxers).

Holyfield isn't any better off than Joe Mesi at this point.
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
For me personally, I would like to see Cintron/Hatton or Cintron/ Cotto. Cintron is one of my favorites.  I wouldn't mind seeing him get his egg cracked by Margarito again.
  I also like Jean-Marc Mormeck.
I guess Mayweather/Margie or Hatton/Cotto would be the big fight
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing

JC Vs Taylor would be 3rd
off the table or not...there is only 1 mega-fight out there.....ODLH-PBF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are no other mega-fights.....period!!!!!!!!
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
Mormeck vs. Jirov
actually the megafight would be Cotto vs. Hatton at a catch weight of 145.
Nobody else is really certified to be a megafight. Hatton vs. Mayweather wouldn't be the same because of what Collazo just did to Hatton.
Cotto vs. Hatton and there would be no higher PPV numbers in history.

I don't think Hatton can get Mega-fight status yet.....He has to BEAT a top person...not judges decision them....nothing personal but he needs to get his cred back from the Collazo fight...sorry.....ODLH-PBF is the only fight out there worthy of MEGA-FIGHT status....I'm glad you agree with me.....cc
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
It's only a megafight because of the name Delahoya.
Hatton vs. Cotto is a bigger megafight because it actually moves boxing forward. Delahoya Mayweather never would.
Delahoya wins, he retires, Floyd has an L, continues on.
Floyd wins, Delahoya retires, Floyd has another title, goes back to fighting.
Whoever wins is not going to capitalize on it, if Delahoya wins he wins but he doesn't move boxing forward one bit since he isn't gonna stick around whats it do for boxing besides give Floyd a loss? its not like anyone's gonna do something about it. At the very least any other opponent could capitalize on that victory and build their own legacy and I really don't see why a guy who's legacy is already written would do anything for boxing to beat Mayweather. I really don't.

JC Vs Hopkins would be number 1 if it was possible
I take Cotto because he's younger and hits harder, Gatti is a good guy, great heart but he's getting up there, Hatton-Gatti would be more even just do to styles. Cotto attacks the body like Ward did but he thumps a hell of a lot harder and can take tremendous punishment despite what everyone says about his chin. When Cotto goes down it's for good reason.
As for what you said about the heavyweights, people like them because the fights that are good in the division stand out above all the rest. Ali-Frazier I-III, Bowe-Holyfield I-III, hell, Dempsey-Firpo is considered the greatest fight of all time
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
Well, to be a big match it really has to have a mainstream appeal, so something involving Oscar De La Hoya is the most obvious.
ODLH vs Floyd Mayweather would draw in regular fans in De La Hoya, and the approval of the boxing fans as it pits the currebt best in PBF against him. If that isn't possible, ODLH vs Ricky Hatton, who's in the top 10 best and has a big British following, would be big, or Winky Wright perhaps. Hatton is probably too small in stature, as he's too small for welterweight let allown light middleweight, but Winky would be a good match, rougly the same size and respected by hardcore boxing fans.
Other Possibles, due to there size, for ODLH would be guys like Margarito, or perhaps retreads like Mosely, Vargas or Trinidad would most likely attract attention and money.
It's a shame the cold war isn't still going, as Wladimir Klitchko vs Hasim Rachman matches 2 world heavyweight title holders, and the biggest names from America and the former USSR in that division, and with a bit of good communist/capitalist tension going that could be huge. As it is it would still probably be the biggest Heavyweight bout possible, but not the biggest in boxing.
I'm not the most knolegdeable on forein boxing matters, but don't Manny Paquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera have big followings in their countrys? Pitting Peurto Rico vs Mexico worked nicely for Trinidad vs De La Hoya, maybe they could do Mexico vs The Phillipines and drum that up to make that a big rematch.
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
A Barrera-Pac rematch would be a mega-fight, for me, at least...
If PBF would fight Margarito, Hatton, or Cotto, any one of those is close enough to a mega-fight for me, also ;D
Valuev-Wlad is definitely a mega-fight, in terms of size, anyway. I think Valuev's head weighs more than PBF.
Re: What's the biggest mega match that can be made in boxing
that would be a amazing fight. JC vs B-hop. i would love to see that fight
