Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
I dont know if you can see this or not but look how much room i have to move around. lol like a 10 foot area
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
i was kinda impressed. good hand speed and being a southpaw is cool. you got quite a cool style
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
you have great hand speed. you dont throw enough body shits and its the same punches over and over again. mix it up. but still you are good
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
Could you post a video where we can see your feet? I can't really tell from this but it looks like your legs could do with bending a pit, you're too upright (I think ;))
I would only suggest 'dancing around' if you are practicing foot work, not brilliant for conditioning if you do it all the time... a lot of people do it to coast through a work out whilst looking like they a working...
Depends wether you focus on conditoining or technique in the session.
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
oh yeah, and theres quiet a bit of improvement between the videos... first one you mainly use your arms to punch... the other I can see you are using your body more... keep trying to develop a feel for it and once you get a 'foot hold' you can develop a lot of power by yourself....
Give it a few weeks then post another video...
I wish every one in this forum had a digi cam/youtube makes it a lot easy to help people out ;)
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
Agreed...as soon as my girlfriend gets back with our cam, I'm headin straight to the gym to get some vids.
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
Try to think of your bag as an opponent, instead of something that you are just hitting pointlessely. Pretend your bad is going to thorwo a shot at you which will get you moving on your toes and ducking/weaving etc.
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
Orite m8,
i looked at your first video and noticed that you were throwing your hands about when you had stop punching, get them straight back to the side of your face ready to defend.
on the second video you change that your hands are right back to your face after evrey shot, also your hands are looking prety nippy, just get on them toes and move around abit more, take it easy at first and when you feel more comfortable start to move as the bag swings in and out (follow it)
not bad though m8 keep it up,
im only 16 myself so i cant help you as much as the other people on here but i hope you take it in
cheers
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
I saw the video. it looks pretty good, You keep your elbows in, very good, and you bring you hands back for defense, very good. You got to work on head movement brother ! , bend at your knee's to slip punches, and generate more power, your a little stiff , get some music going in there. a little hip hop for rhythm or some Pantera which is also good bag music . When you throw that str8 left, pivot more on your foot and get that hip in there. follow through. Remember Don't punch to the bag, punch through the bag. Good luck Bro !

Well, first off, you asked for advice....
If you want to criticize it, dont ask for it....
For one thing, you are to square with the bag,,,,,MEANING, your upper body is to square with the bag, lead with your right shoulder a bit more....
I would also work on putting a little more bend to your knees, you are throwing all your power with your arms and not utilizing the rest of your body. Bring your elbows down a little closer to the body, with that frame, you need all the defence you can get...It will also increase the speed of your punches...
Dont push your punches so much, put some more pop to them,,,you might say something against that, but your hitting with a pair of 2-3 oz gloves on, get some 12-14 oz. Bag Gloves, it will help with the work out...
Dont let your hands float around your face to much...it leaves you open for to many counters...
All in all, with some serious work and real guidance, you could possibly do something....Get into a gym somewhere and get with a trainer...You need some hands on stuff...
Good Luck,
Coach...
Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
Just finished watching the second Vid...
Look at yourself in your videos and listen to what I am telling you...
First, look at your legs..
There is no flexibility there...If you would slightly widen your stance a bit and put a slight bend in your knees for when you snap that jab out there, you'll get more pop in your punch...
Second, Something I mentioned about your elbows....
Look how far out from your body you keep them....As much as you might think you feel comfortable doing it, you better get them down to your body....Also, watch your punches when you throw them,,,see how your elbow stays high in the air when you throw the punches?? you will want to start practicing keeping that elbow down also, this will allow for your whole body to become part of the punch itself...
When throwing the punches, dont let your feet move around so much when throwing, you are taking away from the punch....If you want to move, do it in between throwing....The only punches I train my fighters to throw on the move are Jabs and thats more for Defense than offense....
When moving, start practicing movement with your feet as if you're learning dance steps....
When moving forward, move front foot with back to follow(Never skip in or shuffle in, use some stride and relax when moving). With side to side movement, if moving right, move right foot first and vice versa with left movement...
Throwing hooks is simple, you want to work with you feet and hips in place, dont change up stance when throwing a hook, especially with your lead hand....It will get you into trouble....
For more advice on learning to properly box, I suggest making an investment into some videos...
The best I have found for simple instruction would be the videos put out by Title Boxing...
http://store.titleboxing.com/video-t...al-videos.html
I see potential, good potential...
But, without a trainer, I dont see you getting beyond your level you are now....
A trainer is extremely important for any fighter...
Good Luck,
Coach

Re: My Videos There Not Good But Im Still Training Tell Me What I Need To Change
youve improved quiet abit but what poom said was right you do stand alittle too squared, what he means by that is your chest is almost facing your oponent to correct that point your right shoulder out to your oponent/bag so you dont stand to square, you also need alittle flexibility your too upright and stiff and your arms are too far out and high up, your not protecting your body. hope it helps
Former Golden Glove Middleweight Champion
Yur handspeed isn't too shabby, it's actually pretty good for a starter, but one thing you need to remember is to keep those elbows down. If you notice, real close, your very vunerable for body shots, cause your elbows are a lil too high. Bring your hands down a bit, cause you can weave, slip & bob punches if you practice enough. another thing is to throw more body punches. Mix it up from head to Body....Body to Head..Practice Moving around throwing doubles jabs then Straight Rights then moving back to your right...If your Southpaw, that's good, cause so am I, but I'm Right-Handed...It's just more confortable for me to Box in Southpaw position. I still utilize the Orthodox position though. For Instance, When you throw a Hard Left Cross, you can bring your left foot forawrd at the same time, cautiously, and do a tricky switch to Orthodox and IMMEDIATELY throw a left jab and back-off, then a QUICK QUICK Immediate Right Cross...That's a killer combo, and it messes with thier mind. Your shoulders are a lil too square, I must agree with the other dude. Your a good boxer, I don't doubt that, I'm just giving you Constructive Critisism so take advantage of it, okay. Keep working hard, and remember to do 1 Minute Flurry Workouts too...Hit the bag fast as you can for 1 minute non-stop, then 30 seconds rest and so on...Work your way up...GOOD JOB....Train Like a Champion..
