Well we either have TV replays in Football or we do not. This has set a dangerous precedent. Perhaps if Sven had gone all mad with the fourth and fifth official like Lippi, he may of got Ronaldo sent off for the 'Wink'. Or if Robson had gone spare, the ref may of changed his mind about the Hand of God goal.
Just because the right decision was made, it does not mean the way it was made, was right. Like I said Zidane did wrong, but under the rules of the game at the moment, he got away with it, and should of stayed on the pitch.
Re: A dark night for Zidane
The question is,what the heck did Materazzi say because ZZ smiled at first and was walking away.but you can clearly see Materazzi's lips moving! Then, ZZ turned around and dang, what a headbutt!!! I'm not excusing what ZZ did,but it's strange that Materazzi does not want to talk about it(avoided it in an interview),showing maybe that he is not innocent?
I agree BK,had technology not been as sophisticated as it is,ZZ would have got away with it. And by the way,I totally disagree,I think it's a poor way to end a glittering career but it doe not mean we look at his career in shame at all,he was and is one of the greatest players of all time. Maybe he thought,it's my last match, they'll let me off? ;D
Re: A dark night for Zidane
Materazzi told ZZ that he was so shit, he should be playing for England.
;D
Re: A dark night for Zidane
Great head butt by ZZ ;D
Went down like he'd been shot though >:mad
They have a history those two anyway ;)
Really though France were gonna sneak it in the 2nd half of normal time too.
Re: A dark night for Zidane
ZZ was simply emulating his hero - Pele got sent off for headbutting a Uraguayan in the 1962 world cup. ;D
It's hardly the end of the world and don't be listening to the media scumbags looking for a story 'ooh tarnished legacy', 'ohh vicisous attack' 'ooh sullying his legend'.
All those vacuous journalists do is peddle misery and bad stories to make people feel bad, bitter at their own lot in life, xenophobic and angry.
Re: A dark night for Zidane
Sadly I have a feeling that Zizou will be mostly remembered by that action. ;)

Re: A dark night for Zidane
Rumor has it that the guy Zidane headbutted gave him a titty twister
