Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Excellent points Boom boom, although saying that Baldo is a step up from his last few fights.

As for the PBF-Baldo fight...I dont see why some people think it will be difficult for PBF. Baldomirs two main strengths in this fight are his size and toughness. This are going to be countered by Floyd's speed and endurance. Baldomir does not have one punch power and if PBF gets tagged with a good shot he's going to be out of the way before anymore hit. So Baldomir is NOT going to KO PBF. And can Baldomir outbox PBF? Hell no!
Floyd might beak a hand but he's going to win this fight by lopsided UD.
**By the way BoomBoom, I used to have a similar view of PBF that you have now. I suggest hitting up youtube and just watching him in action from fights through his career. He's the Einstein of boxing and his timing is absolutly incredible. Watch PBF vs. Gatti and then Baldomir vs. Gatti for comparison and keep in mind that it was a fresher Gatti that PBF humiliated.
Bro,NO ONE is questioning his talent, how can you? It's his level of opposition that people are questioning, that's all. Talent wise,he is a marvel to watch.Yes and I totally agree Boom Boom,Floyd has fought fighters who let him fight his fight,in fact fighters who he can stand toe to toe with and win. Even Baldo is a light hitter.
Adam,to say Baldo is a level above Margarito is ridiculous considering Baldo sparred with Tony and said he is very powerful and that he would not fight him...Tony would beat him badly,it's just Baldo has been in the right place at the right time,he beat an unfocussed champ in Judah and beat a guy who has no business at 147,Gatti. If peeps don't give lil Floyd props for beating Gatti, then NO way should Baldo get much either!

ANY ONE OF THEM. But he chooses to be a Pu$$y and take the easy road. He was great against Corrales, and Lazcano but he hasnt done Shat in the last couple of years. I do give him credit if he fights and beats Baldomir. IF. But you heard it from me first: Baldomir will win a decision over PBF. Thats right, a decision.
O.K. for starters here Mayweather never fought Lazcano! Baldomir ain't the easy road man, he's the welterweight champion of the world god damn it! Floyd will put on a clinic in this fight but make no mistake it won't be a hollow victory cause Gatti or Judah couldn't! The only guys he has to fight to secure his legacy would be DLH, Mosley, Wright would be a bonus & Hatton would cap things of.
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Yeah but Galaxy,it would depend on what you meant by legacy? As in,one of the greatest boxers of all time?Remember Floyd talks about being the greatest of all time or at least 1,and with his current resum,NO WAY! I can name a few active fighters who have better resumes than PBF-Barrerra,Morales,Pacman,Winky, etc They may not have their 0's in tact but they have had bigger fights ergo bigger wins than PBF!

Jesus Chavez. Ive been away a while and my boxing expertise is rusty ;D. Exactly and If he beats Baldomir that will be his first big accomplishment in six or seven fights. and in mho he Wright, Mosley, and Oscar are too strong for him

I;m not saying he's one of the greatest yet. But he's never been dominated thus far. Barrera got owned by Jones, Morales by Pacquiao, Pacquiao by Medgoen 3K Battery, Wright lost to a green Vargas IMO plus the loss to Vasques & Wrights record has only become solid of late. So to me yes there is still plenty of time & opportunity for Floyd to try to prove his greatness. Put DLH, Mosley, Wright & Hatton on Floyds record & it starts to get pretty hard to deny.

Dont really understand this post. To say Floyd hasn't fought any punchers is just stupid. Coralles is THE hardest hitting lightweight, Judah packs a serious punch and Gatti over the past ten years has been the ultimate blood and guts warrior who just loves to slug it out toe to toe, so how can you possibly say Floyd only faces light hitters.
Considering that Baldomir destroyed Gatti and made Zab dance I'd say he is a pretty strong guy too, at least as strong as Collazo, who roughed up Ricky Hatton big time.
Floyd does fight the best in the divisions, it's just that fickle fans clamour for him to constantly face their idea of whose best based on a boxers last performance.
Evryone was crying out for Hatton Mayweather, now nobody thinks Ricky has a chance, especially at 147lb. Margarito will be found out soon enough too.
Baldomir is a great choice of opponent for Floyd. I would rather see him take this fight than any other right now. Carlos hasn't lost for about 7 years or something, it's going to be a great fight and credit to Floyd to making it happen.
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Well I wrote the post as simply as I could, adressing various points,if you are unable to understand it,that's your problem not mine as no one else has a problem understanding my posts.
Yes,remind me,which weight class did he fight Chico? And where does he fight now? And in that time, which punchers has he fought? Everyone knew Gatti was going to try to box,Zab hits quite hard, not hard at 147 and no where near as hard as a fully fledged WW.
Oh,remind me,who did Floyd fight at 140? At 140,like it or not,Hatton is the man. At 147,he has yet to fight a big strong WW,Baldo is a weak WW BUT DO give him credit for taking the fight,he is a step up from his last fights since Castillo in 02.
Was Zab Judah the best at 147 when Floyd fought him? He had the titles but can you say he could take the punch of a true WW? Was Sharmba the best?No to either and Baldo may have the belts but I would bet on in Margarito,Cintron,Quintana,Williams etc et all to give him a good beating.
Who did he fight at 140 that was the best............................

I won't go through every single one but like I said, they may have lost but does PBF have a fight equal to
-Mosley beating Oscar
-Winky schooling Tito and Shane
-Manny beating MAB and being the first to stop EM
-MAB beating Erik/Hamed etc etc
I agree with you Floyd has rnough time to make things right and increase his legacy but whether he actually wil or whether people are going to debate about him in 30 years time as the RJJ of this era remains to be seen,it is up to him.
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Lets not fool ourselves with Baldizor, the guy is good but not great. What allows him to win? He comes down from 200lbs so he can beat up on smaller guys - jesus christ look at his head and torso it doesn't match the rest of him. PBF has no way of knocking the guy out because of his size, but because Baldy is so technically inferior it's an easy UD. Love what Floyd's capable of but when he talks about himself as a smart fighter he isn't just referring to how he fights, but who he fights. He's a selfish guy just like Roy Jones was with the opponents he picked (even tho I don't even begin to compare PBF to Jones Jr :)). The only question is whats it gonna to get this ugly mother fucker to open his eyes and see what kind of a joke he's letting his career turn into it. People get more anticipation and excitement out of waiting to hear who he fights next, then his actual fights. Why? Because he leaves the people who make him rich in the dark for so long, purposely of course and I couldn't tell you why he likes to play these little games. I only know one way to fight back, and thats to stop ordering Floyd Mayweather PPV's. Hell as much as I admire what goes on when he's in the ring, the facts still must be faced. He's not exciting enough to be on PPV ;)

I think if you ask Cory Spinks, Zab Judah hits quite hard! Especially seeing as Spinks beat Mayorga and Karmazin who are both really strong 154 lbs let alone 147lb.
Coralles is a natuarally bigger man than Floyd, he's chosen to stay where he is to maxamise his effectiveness but he could easily move upto to 147 if he wanted to, the guy is nearly 6 ft.
Castillo is another big puncher who Floyd handled, although I felt Castillo shaded the first fight.
The fact remains that there is not a fighter on the planet with as an impressive a resume as Floyd Mayweather. Who else boasts a better list of victims than Hernandez, Corrales, Chavez, Castillo, Gatti, Judah. When he adds Baldomir to that list come November it's fairly obvious why he is pound for pound number one on the planet.
Floyds career is progressing at just the right pace. Unify the welterweight division than get ready for a mega showdown with Oscar in May.
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Bilbo, all points aside,I shall pick on one which shows your level of nut hugging to be astronomical:

You are joking right?
Winky wRIGHT-Mosley times 2,Tito,Soliman,robbed v Vargas,drew with JT
Oscar-Ruelas,Hernandez,JCC,Gonzalez,Whitaker,Quartey,Gat ti(beeter than Floyd),"beat" tito,Vargas,Mayorga
Marco Antonio Barrerra-Mckinnedy,Morales,Hamed,Tapia,Ayala,Juarez
Pacquiao-MAB,Erik Morales,Oscar Larios,Ledwaba(was rated at the time),JMM(draw, could have won, more technically gifted tan anyone Floyd has fought)
Eri Morales-Pacman,MAB,Chavez,Hernandez,Espades,In Jin Chi,Ayala,Mcollough,Kelley
Baldo has also gone through Zab and Gatti too.....
That is my main gripe about Floyd,he is awesome but he is NOT P4P number because you canot be based entirely off talent.....opposition counts too and all those guys I have been bothered to mention have fought as good and at times far far better level of competition than Floyd....

harsh way of putting it but totally agree with the principle idea, that Floyd needs to fight more dangerous fighters(right?>?) ;D
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
I give baldi a good chance of beating PBF. Im not saying that he will defo beat PBF but imo he stands a good chance and should be given more respect.
(and p.s I agree with boom boom guy, all his posts make alot of sense).
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Baldy is the Welterweight Champ. Why would he want to fight anyone else first.

PBF's motto-"If it makes $$$,it makes sense"....I don't see any mention of titles there.....
