Astute observation. Sound advice to Maskaev's team.

While HBO manager Shelly Finkel and IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko would be happy to quickly move to make a November unification fight with brand new WBC king Oleg Maskaev, the Russian born American's trainer is insisting that his fighter will not be fit by then.
Citing a dislocated finger, sprained back as well as the cuts, bruises and swellings sustained in the upset win over Hasim Rahman last Saturday Maskaev's trainer Victor Valle told boxing writer and agent Mike Marley on FightNightNews: "November is just too soon. Even if (promoter) Dennis (Rappaport) wanted it, even if Dennis said let's do this November 11, I would tell Oleg no. We have a good team, Oleg, me, Dennis and Fred Kesch. We have good teamwork. I think both Oleg and Dennis realize that my opinion matters.
"I just don't see any reason for us to rush into another fight against anyone right now."
Klitschko's other mooted opponent for November and Madison Square Garden is Shannon Briggs, the underachieving New Yorker who hasn't won a meaningful fight since he was gifted a win over the ancient George Foreman nine years ago.
good call by maskaev's team.
there is no reason for him to go out and fight the best hw in the sport, right after he took out the most over rated heavyweight in the sport ;)
i say, let him have a few more fights to defend his belt and make some money before throwing him to the wolves
