To compare boxing to MMA an vise versa is like comapring apples to oranges because they are two different sports, hence it would be a waste of people's time. I'm not a particularly huge boxing fan but I don't trash the sport. People like dasamm are ignorant and should watch MMA before making any stupid comments. First and foremost, the terminology you hear on MMA broadcasts have been around longer that a lot of us have been (look it up man). Apparently you did not know that because you're not a fan. It's too bad. MMA is a legitimate sport with a legitimate skill set. If you didn't know that, that's because you don't watch. Secondly, in the early 19th or 20th century boxing was considered as MMA is now, an up and coming sport which people considered as "not a sport at all" and rather barbaric. So I urge boxing fans who don't intend to try to find any interest in MMA to not trash the MMA. We were in the same place as you were not so long ago. There are a lot of MMA fans out there that continue to support the sport, such as boxing fans did when it was "barbaric". That's how boxing became so big and how MMA will become bigger in the future. Don't hate on what you don't know.. it doesn't make you smarter or a better person.. just a bigger idiot. You're right. This is a boxing thread and people should not talk about MMA in it but since it is what it is, it becomes relevant for either MMA boards and boxing boards, so step off dude.
