I disagree with Wack,Miles and you guys and totally agree with Gyro,a prime El Terrible would do better than he does in sparring Valero.There are far too many instances of the young,raw Valero getting the better of him,and it's a FACT,Morales needs to lose alot of weight so IT COULD BE that his team will work on him being able to make the weight rather than actually training for the fight.

Valero just made it one sided in his favor, once he adapted to Morales' style and the high altitude from which they were training.
The reason why Valero is so dominating is probably from his reaction to his first days in

Also note that just after this camp, Morales had one great fight left in him.
I've seen Morales fight when he was young, he was POWERFUL, FAST, and FULL OF ENERGY.
His combinations were amazing, and the fact that he was able to calmly hang in the
danger-zone while blasting his opponents away, just amazes me. I still think
Morales' career is underrated, in confidence and talent.

Morales is a proud man, his knockout at the hands of Pacquio is probably eating him alive. I think Erik might be able to ressurect the great Morales for one more night.

sparring ain't all that. morales will still beat valero in an actual fight. and what is this writer talking about "future champion written all over him"? isn't it valero's already world champ.

anyways a perfect example of why you shouldn't put too much attention to the whole sparring thing, is what were people saying about MANNY PACQUIAO BEFORE HE FOUGHT HIS LAST FIGHT AGAINST OSCAR LARIOSSSSSSSS, Yea he looked slow and sluggish during training, that his stamina wasn't that great, and look at how he performed, so yea don't read into it that much

Wait a little while longer, its too early to be making any final judgements on Morales as of yet. I doubt he's taken a fight with the sole intention of just making the weight. Of course Morales is not looking good in sparring 3 months prior to the fight. He's heavy and out of condition even now.
Time will tell, fellas....

Agreed. The fact that Mosquerra lasted up to the 11th (or was it the 9th) round bolsters the claim of some analysts that almost all the fighters Valero KO'd in the 1st are unknown, unrated fighters. Mosquerra is not even considered as one of the marquee or elite fighters although he might have been a champion, which qualifies him as a first class fighter. He's probably the only first class fighter whom Valero faced so far. I wonder how long Mosquerra would have lasted against Pac.

lmao,HELL NO I have not left EM"!!! He's still my boy but he would beat on some young upstart like Valero in his prime but right now,Valero holds his own and although sparring does not usually mean alot,at times,it can get heated especailly with someone as proud as Morales. I sooooo hope we see the best of Erik on more time,I mean in the second fight,his defence was appaling!

Well he fought guys in Japan who none of us know wabout so none of us can comment on that and as for Mosquera,he was fighting in front of his adoring home fans,and he was known as a decent fighter so it's a good win for Valero and remember,he is just starting out,there is PLENTY more to come from.
