nice article about this forum and the fans

Like I've said before, knowledgeable fans and young fans too, it's nice to see that boxing isn't really dying and that it's still popular with young people. As for MaxBoxing, I subscribed about a year or more ago and I never even got my friggin' lousy t-shirt. I got one thing for them.............. :fyou:

Hell yeah! Viva el matador! Mayorga is a true warrior and I hope he decides to return to the ring. And this is a good forum. I enjoy discussing boxing and bitching at my fellow members. ;D

I'd actually love to see some statistics. It's hard to imagine a more popular, more active board than this one. The paysites certainly won't have as many members.

One other thing I noticed that I got a kick out of is that google news uses this forum as a news source. You'll regularly see Wacko and the like populating their news if you search for something boxing related.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any other boxing forum can say that.

I think Saddo had highr stats on that one...I am not sure exactly how they come up with the figures?...Or ifthey are a weekly or monthly thing????......

Nicely done, Daxx. 5th is extremely good when you consider how many sites there are.

The thing with those listings, though, is that it takes into account hits for the main page. I'm fairly certain most Saddo members link straight to the forum, which is in itself a shame. The news page has improved a great deal since Jim took over and then Curtis after Jim left.

Have a click for finding that link ;)

theres not alot in it now mate the main page and the forum are level ;)

i dont really pay much attention to stats sites they can be fiddled and usually have an alteria motive for rating sites...

unless a rating site has access to every sites logs there is no way it can be took serious IMO.

Judging by what I read on the site, it's measured by how often a site is mentioned on other boxing websites. Each mention is worth 1 point.

So if Saddo's is mentioned on Boxingtalk or on their forum, I think this site gets a point for each mention

Judging by what I read on the site, it's measured by how often a site is mentioned on other boxing websites. Each mention is worth 1 point.

So if Saddo's is mentioned on Boxingtalk or on their forum, I think this site gets a point for each mention

its nice to be mentioned but for me its not very accurate

just had a look and they have ndou as no3 so i cant really give it much credit...

as for the case of links... showtime boxing should have the top spot because they send out press releases nearly every day to sites and there releases all have a link to there site at the bottom :-\

as does frank maloney and hennesy and a load more other promoters.

looking at there write up they are just after getting hits out of google for keywords for the sites thats why they also have the misspelt stuff under the links to get hits from bad spellers ;D

great idea for geting themselfs hits but as a rating system i would take it with a pinch of salt ;)

I'm gonna scower the 'net for something more accurate, then.

there aint an accurate one that isnt being fiddled mate.

google could do one as they have the RIGHT info to use and i hope they do as it annoys me seeing sites cheating the lame rating systems that are around now ;)

I don't care if there is a 1,000,000 hits a day or 10...If the site is full of Arsewholes what good is it?? If it isn't run the right way who wants to be there other than those who know no better...
