Why are you surprised? You can get everything your body needs from veggies and grains.

Nah not really, you need the amino acids from meat, there are lots of supplements you can take though, also nuts and legumes are very good protein sources... Also I believe Bhop was a vegetarian primarily so he could always make middleweight as he aged, I believe he said in an interview that he was eating some meat before the Tarver fight to bulk up.
Re: Is Hopkins a vegetarian?
Yeah right. Just like the time when Mackie Shilstone was feeding Hopkins Gumbo. Give me a break.

Here are a few benefits.
Lower chance of artery disease
Lower chance of high blood pressure
Lower chances of gall and kidney stones
Lower chance of diabetes
of course if someone is a vegetarian it doesn't mean they eat well and a veg could easily counter all of these benefits by eating processed foods all the time.
For me I am a vegetarian because of economics, by that I mean if you grow an acre of soy beans you can feed 10 times more people than with an acre of livestock.
For me eating meat is a choice you make, I do not fault someone for their diet, nor will I ever try to convert any of you, but if anyone has any questions I will be happy to answer.
It also makes it easyier to bang hippie chicks.

Well I eat tofu often, and also almonds and cashews. Beans are great sources of protein as well as being good for your cholesterol (depending on how they are prepared of course)

This is quite true as well ;) cc
Re: Is Hopkins a vegetarian?
He had to go off the vegetarian diet to get up to Light Heavyweight but I don't think he is. He may be when he is training for fights but on a regular basis I'm not sure.
Why are all the vegitatrians and people that won't wear fur because it had a face and was an animal and then yell at those who do, and yet they wear shoes like sneakers that are made from leather ;)

Don't forget they buy clothes that were made in sweat shops, diamonds dug out of African mines, and support the high class by buying their expensive products.
