At the time though i'm not sure people thought Collazo was a bigger risk. Not everybody saw the Rivera fight, I saw it but it was hard to tell if Collazo was that good or if Rivera was shit. Rivera's turned out to be allright.
Collazo should get a shot but another thing is that Collazo's with Don King right? If Arum and King can avoid working together they probably will, it wouldn't be a superfight or anything, probably easier to work out a deal with Quintana than Collazo.
And I don't know if Quintana's the easier fight NO DOUBT, he may well be but Quintana's got a lot of promise, they're both skilled lefthanders, Quintana might be stronger, Collazo's a bit more experienced.

Quintana has a lot of promise but this is the wrong guy to find that out against. He's jumping from a Guppy to a Shark and he's still a goldfish.

I think Cotto is in for a VERY tough night...HOWEVER Cotto attacks the body very well and he CAN box I think those things IF he uses them will keep him undefeated.
If he doesn't do those things he's going to get fucked up, maybe KO'd Quintana can bring it

I think Team Cotto and Arum are looking for a belt, with a belt they can have some kind of leverage money wise in a big fight, if he can get past Quintana.

I think if cotto wins he has to fight Urkal, by that time their should be some welterweights available if he gets by Quintana and Urkal. they wanted a belt they have to fight Quintana, he would not step aside and now he has to fight them both for a belt. Their is no way Arum was going to put Cotto in with Margarito, and with Baldomier fighting mayweather, and Cintron fighting suarez for the ibf then it was either Quinta or Urkal for the WBA. I assum they wanted a belt, Collazo dosen't have one.

Peeps,I don't know if you know but Arum did not actually want to make this fight but Cotto and his camp became disgruntled,openly stating that they wanted to fight the best/better fighters,pressuring Arum. (it was in a latino newspaper)

I think Cotto should do fine against Quintana. Sure the guy moves a lot and throws a lot of punches, but Cotto is NOT Joel Julio, he's much better than that, much much better. I mean I dunno why anyone would want Quinatana to win, he's an eye sore to watch IMO, he's herky jerky, and all over the place. He doesn't seem to plant his feet long enuff to get good leverage on his punches either. Compare Quinatana's opposition to that of Cotto's, there's no comparison. Let's go Cotto!

I think a little bit of Both. But I think Cotto might be like Winky a 160 very strong. Did you guys know that Winky had to loose alot of weight so he could made 154 he drained a la Cotto a 140 that is the only reason I might give Cotto the edge since I thing he will come a lot stronger.
You all could see Winky vs Tito Winky Looked so Pump it was incredible what 7 punds can do a those weight levels

I appreciate your honesty "El Gamo" but it's inexcusable that you never heard of Quintana before he fought Julio, considering the fact that he has fought on ESPN a few times, and you have over 5,000 posts on this site. I don't mean to get on your case, but shame on you. As for the fight, the two boxers are my favorite fighters out there. I agree with Wacko: If Cotto uses his boxing skills more as opposed to get caught up in drawing blood, then he should win. This is going to be a classic fight and reminds me of the good old days when Puerto Ricans fought each other frequently. This will be one of the most important fights for Puerto Rican boxing fans in recent memory. Throw in Collazo and Cintron, the Ricans may soon hold all the belts in the welterweight division (that is if Mayweather dares fight any of the four).
