for WW,they have Zab Judah at number 3 despite having lost 4 of his last 7 fights, they have Urkal at 6,Gatti at 7 above Quintana,Julio,Williams etc. I could give more examples too,I meanw hat do they use to caculate their system??
Also,Margarito has been in the top 10 for 273 FOOOOOOKING WEEKS!! WTF does this man have to do to nail a shot at the big time!!
He has to fight somebody.. It's been a year and a half since his only decent win.
Your Wrong!
He has to get someone ballsy enough to sign the papers.
Zab, Mayweather, Baldomir, even Gatti don't have them.

I aint saying this is going on, but I am saying its very possible.
Can you substantiate this? I'm not trying to be a dick but I've heard this before but other than someone quoting Don King I've never heard anyone that can provide proof of this.

Oh ok, what good wins does he have other then Cintron? How long ago was that?? Kassim Ouma, Paul Williams, Clottey, Sharmba Mitchell, all wanted to fight him at some point.. You never heard a peep from Tony's camp other than the notion that Mayweather was scared of him. It's people like you that allow Margarito to be so inactive, just assuming anyone half decent is shit scared to get in the ring with him.. It's BS.
Re: Question about Ring Mag rankings(don't mean to sound rude!)
Thats why I just don't focus on one particular rating sys. I try to avg. it out and come up with my own. I'm not saying I have my own ranking sys. set up but when I'm looking into something I go and check out different places to come up with my own.
Re: Question about Ring Mag rankings(don't mean to sound rude!)
Margarito's been kicking *ss at 147 long before Cintron. As a matter of fact I hate Cintron! Don't even mention him! Who gives a f*ck about Cintron! ;D
What matters is that Margarito has beaten the MOST fighters at 147!
He deserves his.

Just because he has beaten the most doesnt mean jack. It is the quality of the opponent that everybody talks about with him. His quality of opponents isnt as good as it could be. Who's fault is that? I dont know, blame it on everybody, his promoter for not getting him the fights, Margorito for not taking them earlier, the other fighters for not signing to fight him. Blame who you want about it, still wont change the fact he has not fought any top WW.

He's beaten more top 10(as rated by Ring magazine) fighters than anyone else at WW,if that does not qualify you for a big fight, what does?>
Re: Question about Ring Mag rankings(don't mean to sound rude!)
These guys don't know Jack about boxing!
Gave me a sad click for spouting common sense too!
Forget this!

We all know just because somebody is rated in somebodies top 10 doesnt mean they are quality opponents. He needs to be fighting the top 5 of that top 10 list not the bottom half. Not trying to be an ahole or anything, but any top 10 list of a division is going to contain some questionable choices. But just out of curiousity who was it and what were they ranked at the time?
Re: Question about Ring Mag rankings(don't mean to sound rude!)
Most of his fights are chosen by looking at the rankings(he LOVES his title),for example,Cintron was number 4 or 5 at the time. Lujan was number 10 or 9,Gomez was unbeaten for 6 years and number 10,most of his opponents have been like that. I'm not saying anything good or bad, just answering your question and you are spot on,he should have fought more top 5 contenders but look at the lists now. Matweather won't fight him,Baldo OPENLY says he won't fight him,I doubt King and Arum would come together for anything other than a super event and that takes Collazo out,and then it's Cintron again!
I don't know what it is but Tony just can't get a big fight so I have a new approach, because I think he has become much more well known over the last year,so use the De La Hoya methoid, fight alot of names, keep active and a bg fight will come, In fact, that is EXACTLY what Oscar said he should do when asked about Tony in an interview. Here's the peeps he should be targeting:
Clottey, winner of Quintana Cotto, maybeeee Collazo, and Williams. If he beats 3 of those within the next year,he has beat the best WWs period, all big strong and highly talented. I don't think Baldo will be aroun much longer and I left Judah out because Tony WILL NEVER fight him,he has stated this.Oayback for when he kept knocking on Judahs' door for unifaction, now Judah needs him,he says Judah can wait like he made me(tony)wait.

What I hate about this is I can see both sides of it. On the one hand you have Tony trying to get the big fight with somebody of signigicance. But the other hand says that he hasnt fought anybody(PBF) or just straight up no. You can only beat who they put in front of you.
I agree with you that Tony needs to go and beat some of the up and comers to prove he is the only one left at WW for the big names to challenge. He has to make it obvious to everybody by beating all of the other contenders that he is the only WW out there. Then hopefully the fights will come. But he will have to stay busy with 3 or 4 fights next year. He is only 29 so there is possibly 5 years for him to still fight on top.
