At 140 I'd favor Hatton since Cotto would have to drain himself to make 140 now,Quote:

Hard time? What fight did you watch? Cotto broke Malignaggi's face, cut up his eye, and broke his jaw while we are at it. The reason why the fight may have looked close to some eyes is because Paulie would jab and hold (but in the clinches, Cotto ate up his body, but you can't see that as well as a jab or a punch).Quote:

He handled him in the 1st 2 rounds pretty handy, then got to him in the latter half of the fight 8-12. For his first fight at 147, considering 140 is his natural weight (He is always 156 in the ring) he did well. Either way, styles make fights, not weight. mainly cause we know that Hatton can take shots upstairs, but can he take that killer liver shot from Cotto and also can he keep his constant pressure after getting walloped with killer hooks both upstairs and downstairs, if Cotto chooses to box and brawl like he did when he fought Abdullaev IMO he would win a clear decision or possibly stop Hatton really late after multiple knockdowns

I don't think that Hatton's weight was an issue it was that his oponent had good boxing skilled also. And he also was a big strong boxer like Hatton.Quote:

Again we dont really know how Cotto would fair at 147 as he has never campaigned at that weight, whereas Hatton has won a legitimate world strap. But regardless of this i still see Hatton beating Cotto. Both fighters do get hit and one thing that does worry me are cuts for Hatton due to Cotto's slashing hooks. But once again i come back to the fact that Cotto has not been in the ring against anyone like Hatton ( the is not many of these types of fighters around through any weight division ie Hatton's style ). The shear pressure and pace Hatton would force upon Cotto would wear him down and again a late stoppage or points victory would decide the fight in Hattons favour imo. Both men look big at LWW and i get the feeling both will be of similar size at welter.

I think Cotto, is much the bigger man naturally, he has a bigger frame and he is taller aswell, at 147 Cotto will be to strong my guess is, you say Cotto has never faced anyone like Hatton but the same can be said the other way round, at 140 it's a flip of the coin for me at this moment in time.Quote:

Hmmm,140,it would be silly for Cotto to kill himself and make the fight there imo. I'd certainly favour Hatton although it would still be close. I would like to think Cotto would win at 147 but I have to see how he carries the weight although being taller and looking bigger than Hatton,I hope he can carry it well. In fact,(myself included),people should give Hatton more credit,I looked at Collazo's record and thought he was a bit of a bum or certianly not in Hatton's class but now I have seen more of his fights,it was a bloody dangerou fight to take and Ricky won.Kudo's to him/
I would say its about 50-50 the way Hatton has fought his last two fights. He needs to get back to basics and box like he did againsed Oliviera and Tackie, with educated pressure, picking his shots well. He cant seem to get the strategy he employed for the KT fight out of his head.
When he fought Maussa he looked crap (yes he had bad cuts but he has fought through worse) right until the 8th round. Then he started to box more and knocked him out in the 9th. In the Collazo fight he looked just awful, no method at all in what he was doing.
I still love the guy to bits though and I hope he is back to his old self in future fights. Ive seen all but three of his fights so thats what I base my opinions on.
He is a brilliant fighter, a fantastic bloke and is great for the sport.
