Oscar. The PPV revenue, his money earned from fighting, prices of tickets, and the fact that every fighter in weight classes near him want to fight him are proof of this.

I think DLH is still the most popular boxer. Mainstream fans make up the majority of boxing fans so guy like pacman, calzaghe, etc aren't popular in the US, aside from people like us who are on a boxing forum.

mayweather. i was surprized he wasnt on the list

Mayweather isnt on the list because outside of the US he's barely known. Only hardcore boxing fans know who he is. Someone like De la hoya is wellknown, also MAB is quite well known. Its not just the uk either, he's not well known in europe at all.

My top three would be -

Oscar de la hoya
Manny Pacquiao
Diego Corrales ( Just mind)

Mine are Scott Harrison and Ricky Hatton.It was Iron Mike Tyson when he was still fighting for real.

I wouldnt say Ffloyd mayweather was POPULAR, just good.
Popuar boxers, Ricky Hatton, Morales, Tyson, Lewis. Nearly every household (whether boxing fans or not) have heard these names, yet you have to be a true fan to know of the likes of Mayweather or corrales.

Oh and sorry for the probably stupid question.

But why does everybody refer to Mayweather as PBF? Surely it should be FM??

My favourites are Calzaghe, Toney, MAB and Hatton....
