Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
OK first off if Vitali got "stopped by Johnson" it was by the ref and I think Kirk was happy about it judging by how bad he got whupped on.
Vitali was a very good fighter whom obviously had to fight to get big fights...who would want to fight a 6'8 250 pound guy who was very athletic, had a GREAT chin and KO'd all but 1 of the guys he beat....one of the best KO ratios ever...I don't care who you say he fought it was just as good as who Tyson fought before he really stepped it up and Vitali did a better job of knocking them out.
I'm not saying Vitali is THE GREATEST or a GREAT (because he didn't stay at the top long enough) but he was a VERY GOOD heavyweight and his style, size, and power matches up good against ANYONE in the history of the sport!
If I'm in a fight, I want Vitali in my corner

Vitali is a tough TOUGH guy...I don't know if Foreman or Holyfield or ANYONE could knock the guy down....but he did get hurt and awful lot (cut, knee, back, neck, shoulder)....I think that's the only way he gets beat.
Vitali is too tough to KO and too good at boxing to get beat by decision....tough I would say Holyfield and Foreman win in their primes but I just can't figure out how
I would guess VK would slaughter Evander. Against Foreman it would be a toss up but id pick VK to win that as well. Against Kessler? Ahh hell, VK would be put into his grave! :o (Royal told me so)
You pick VK to beat them in their prime? IN THEIR PRIME? give me a break. He couldnt even beat a fat out of his prime Lennox Lewis. Some of the shots Lewis landed in the final round nearly tore his head off. I give him credit for standing up but Foreman would literally have killed Vitali in his prime. KO in two. There's no way that guy could stand there and let him rip into him like Lewis did. If those were Foreman shots it would be lights out for VK. Holyfield would out box and punish the bigger, slower Klitschko to a lopsided 12 round decision. You forget how fast and how good of a boxer the young Holyfield was. Klitschko would be way too slow and would get beaten the same way the older Foreman did when he made his comeback against Evander in 91 i think it was. No way Vitali Klitschko could hang with either one of them in their prime, IMO.
Bowe beat the crap out of Evander in part 1 and part 3 and probably would have KOd him in part 2 if that "fan man" guy hadnt given Evander all that time to recover. As far as George, like I said, a toss up but Id bet on VK.
Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
diamond you have to realize although Vitali has 2 losses on his record he has NEVER, EVER....EVER EVER been knocked down.
He took FLUSH shots from Corey Sanders and Lennox Lewis and wasn't that bothered with them.
Now Big George could punch but who knows if he could get Vitali down
Honestly I think Vitali's style would help him more vs Holyfield because he was bigger and Evander liked to be on the inside and tie up and smother guys and bigger guys: Bowe and Lewis were able to take advantage of their size...especially Bowe because of the good jab.
Foreman and Holyfield are great fighters though, it's an honor for Vitali to be compared with them I am sure

Those fights happen and Vitali could've be mentioned as the Foreman/Ali/tyson/marciano/louis of today. I think his body just gave out on him alittle too soon for him to clearly earn that recognition.
Lewis wont come back and you cant make that comparison anyway. Foreman, Louis, Marciano, Ali and Frazier were legitimate boxing greats; legends in fact. No way Vitali is carrying ANY of their jock straps. Who's Vitali fought? He fought Lewis and Kirk Johnson and those are the ONLY names of any caliber on his record. He got stopped by Lennox and Johnson aint sayin much. Lewis at least beat Holyfield and Tyson. Even if Lewis came back and whupped on him two more times it wouldnt put either of them in the same league as Ali, Foreman, Rocky Marciano or Joe Louis. Ridiculous in my opinion to even consider. People need to get off Klitschko's jock. Anyone with half assed boxing skill can do damage and have a decent record amongst an unimpressive division if they are 6'8" and over 250 lbs. It doesnt mean that they deserve to be compared or even spoken of in the same sentence as the legends do.
I'm not saying he's in the same league as those, i'm just saying he could've clinched a spot as being recognized as the dominant boxer of this watered down heavyweight era. Lewis would've had it hands down but the rahman ko washed that right out the window. I'm just trying to stick up for the guy for a change because everything else i say seems to be in the negative. His record's not as padded as Don steele's.

he didnt beat crap out of holy in 3rd fight bowe was lucky to survive that 6th round it was just unusually holy was exhausted 2nd fight was 3 for 3 going into 7th round and u cant say bowe would of whooped holy if fan man wouldnt have cause riot i honestly think ur overrating vitali.
vitali was good but he would get crushed by prime foreman what u needed to beat a prime foreman is good movement and quick hands like jimmy young had or do rope a dope which wouldnt of worked twice vitali would get koed early by foreman as for holy i feel would be bit too much of a weight difference for holy i see vitali winning a decision against holy though but maybe holy could get razor thin decision vitali vs holy is 60 40 for me foreman vs vitali is 100 0 no way vitali would beat prime foreman.
Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
Against a truly Prime Formeman???...........Neither gets past 6..........
The pre Ali Foreman who had all the confidence in the world would walk them down and crush them...
George just TOOO strong at the time of his prime.......
Even after all these years the way he just walked through Frazier gives me goosebumps........

Not to take away from Lewis - he was graceful, powerful and smart in the ring. One of the best HWs ever I believe. Unfortunately, also a bit inconsistent in terms of preparedness. But his W from Tyson fight doesn't add to his luster.
w/respect to this thread, I agree Foreman overpowers and KOs earlier rounds. Holyfield outpoints over 12 for UD unless as is always possible he gets caught and then pressured hard before he has time to recover, and loses TKO.
Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
I think Prime Formen gets a mid round KO against VK. Both big guys...both great power...VK would be able to box and keep George on the outside for the first 6 rounds but eventually would tire and be forced to slug it out with him and I just feel like George would have been able to end it. If Holy boxed VK then know doubt in my mind that he gets a UD...if he lets his ego get in the way and attempts to slug it out with VK like he did with Bowe then I think VK gets a SD. On a side note: I love how emphatically people say that Lewis beat VK. Lewis was losing on all cards when the fight was stopped due to a cut. Don't give me the crap about him being out of shape either. He was a consumate professional who almost always showed up in shape and the fight only went six rounds. Its not like he gassed in the late rounds. I'm pretty sure Lennox could get in a ring right now and give us 6 good rounds. Lennox was getting the fight of his life before it was stopped. Lennox got the win, but by no way did he "beat" VK
Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
....George had been down vs Lyle and Norton....let us not forget it
I'm not saying Vitali would win but George wouldn't have an easy time vs a guy he would have trouble bullying

foreman down against norton ?? anyway prime foreman would be too strong for vitali foreman by ko in 6
Re: vitali klitschko vs prime foreman + prime holy who wins ??
The early Foreman threw puches WAY to wide. I think VK could have thrown some straight down the pipe on him. Plus, at this time, George would have been giving up 25 lbs or so. Im not saying VK beats him 10 out of 10 times but no way George beats VK 10 out of 10 times. Just my thoughts. Anyone have a time machine? These would be great fights to see! :o

Vitali wins both.
1) Holy cant reach. The jab will outpoint him.
2) Forman has no good defence when in his prime. He never faced anyone bigger with fast straight punches and good movement. Both men standing and Vitali outpoints Foreman. Vitali has never been down and given he knows Foremans' a power puncher he wills tay on the outside.
3) Ali only met smaller guys (except for Foreman). VK would knock him out. Because Vitali would not be too scared of Ali's punching power, and he would take the nice combos by ali whilse consistently pump the jab and hitting with the occasional monster right. If Ali had probs w Chuvalo and Henry Cooper, surely Vitali would be too much even for the greatest.

a) Only one person weighed as much as Vitali and that was Buster Mathis. It took Ali 12 rounds to win a deciscion. Dont tell me you think Vitaly would need 12 rounds against mathis. EVERYONE else he met were between 20-50 pounds lighter than Vitaly. And he still needed many rounds. Vitaly KO's ali.
b) Vitaly keeps jabbing and throwing straights and backs up when Foreman comes forward. Points victory Vitaly.
