i know its not ok to be racist either way, but wake up and smell the coffee because its happening .........................i watch the comedy channel on pay tv and almost every day theres a black comedian calling white people crackers!! but every one including me laugh at it! cause i have a fuking sense of humour! ......but when a white calls a black man a nigger ,the whole black community is out to gut him

where i live you very very seldomly see a, well non white person, but say should a black peron(s) come into my say local, to us its just another person, not white black or anything. But i see out in america mainly, in the rap music, 'black films' alot of black stand ups they refer to eachother as 'nigger' alot, but if a white person says it it offends them?

i mean if a word is offensive, why call eachother it? you don't see gay people walking around saying stuff like "Whats up my faggot?"

All nigger means is black person doesn't it? how is that offensive? People used to call Welsh people 'taff' untill some tw@ went and made it politicaly incorrect to do so, yet you wont find a welsh person who gives a damn if someone called him or her taff ...

If black people just stopped reacting to the word nigger from white people it would soon cease to matter, and as i asked, if its such a bad word, why call eachother it?

Nigger is no different than any other word used to refer to a person of another race in a negative manner.

The reasons it's so bad to say (in my opinion because I'm white and so I can't fully understand how that words makes people feel) is because blacks had to fight hard to earn their rights here and even when they had earned them they were still persecuted by groups of people and treated as second class citizens.

The word was used then as a means of controlling and putting down, and to evoke responses that would lead to more persecution.

I just think that over the more recent years it's time to teach people to not react as strongly to it because it is only used by the weak in power and the weak in mind. If you're in an arguement and someone calls you that you must realize that it's the A-Bomb of words to black people....and it's only used in dire cirmcumstances and once used no other words will affect you....it's used to evoke a response...and if people stop giving in to their emotions because of that word, it will lose the power it holds over people.

And cracker means a poor white person living in some rural parts of the southeastern U.S. or crazy.

So you tell me which is worse.

And most white people I know that live in the south call each other cracker all the time and have a laugh about it.
