Not because I hate Tony, but I'll be rooting for Cotto to beat him and fully expect that he'll do so--providing Tony can get by Williams (which I give him a 45% chance of doing).
Sorry bro, that was not addressed at anyone in particular...but alot of people were saying Clottey would win etc etc now it's Williams will knock the F out Tony. Most fans with knowledge will acknowledge Margarito's win over Clottey is a good one, that Tony showed heart and determination, chose to fight a dangerous opponent rather than a bum, someone coming off a loss etc etc which so many top fighters nowadays do... I'm a huge Margarito fan and that was one of his less impressive performances but he got the W,that's what matter.s
No worries--I didn't take it as addressed at me. Just thought I'd make it clear in the preface that I don't really have anything against Margarito. I haven't been impressed by any of his fights I've seen, but true he gets credit for facing Clottey. And he clearly won the fight; though what may have happened had Clottey not gotten hurt might be another story. Anyway--I think versus Williams is a pick'em fight, though I'd lead heavily toward Williams if he had another 2-3 years under his belt first. For me that's the big question mark on that one--Williams is still pretty green. Again, though, if Margarito gets by that one, I just really don't see him beating Cotto. Good thing for him he's got a good chin.
True but like I said,Doug Fischer explaine d in his Firday mail bag that Tony injured his wrist and ankle before the fight, hence the arm punches...and I believe, honestly, that Margarito would have won anyway, regardless of Clottey's hand. Tony was wearing him down to the body and Clottey looked EXHAUSTED by round 9.
I#m a BIG BIG COtto fan but Margarito is no Quintana and,if 100% well prepared,I'd still think he was favourite over Cotto,Cotto is still very open and Margarito's stupendous stamina will push him to the limit. If Tony can take Cotto's best,I think it's going to be a looooooooong night for Cotto ALHTOUGH,on the other hand,Cotto will have space to land those bodyshots and I don't see too many people taking those shots!! Either way,I wouldn't mind,as long as both guys stock goes up after the fight.
As for Williams,to be honest,I actually like his style but about him being green,he's had what 31 pr fights,he should'nt be and if he is,that's his own fault. I want Tony to KTFO Paul though simply because Williams has been running his mouth to much firstly and secondly, like I said earlier, the same posters who go on and on about how Clottey would beat Tony are now going on about Williams etc etc and it gets annoying...
