He fought a slippery mathew barney with a ruptured extensor hood, because the Tv date was in place...

Around 5 years ago he won an amatuer competion in Copenhagen and has been several times - so no pressure in that sense.

Trust me, when Froch connects, its over for any fighter at 168 - as you could see from the liver shot, he didn't get full leverage yet still took a tough Dodson down permenantly.

Even a scatty Calzaghe would get taste some canvas - this kid is heading places.

I highlited the key words imo.. The guy hasn't proved squat, and his defence is absolutely terrible. I would have a hard time envisioning any way he could beat Kessler and unlike you I have no reason to be so incredibly biased. I think Lucian Bute is a way better prospect and there were rumours of this fight happening, I really hope it comes off.

Bute wouldnt fight Froch to much of a risk. Come on more people have heard of Froch than Bute. Froch-kessler is a tough one Kessler i think would get it. But it dont mean Froch wouldnt try!

Much more likely it's the other way around. Bute has far better allround skills. He's got NOTHING to worry about from a guy like Froch. Froch would be beaten silly and never ever land.

What kind of point is that? Is it a popularity contest or are we debating who is the better fighter. The difference between Froch and Bute is that Froch is a mediocre fighter who makes a lot of noice, whereas Bute is an excellent fighter who goes about his buisiness and leaves the shit-talk to others.

Froch MAY try. And that's the one thing i'll give him credit for IF it happens. As long as it's just talk out of Froch's mouth, it's most likely BS. As for Froch's chances, they are minimal.

Kessler has a great jab, but is very wooden.

Beating mundane - who Sven Otke KO'd (LOL !!) is hardly a yard-stick to meausre his ability!

Lacy is just a huge question mark right now, hard to now how he'd look after coming back from the shoulder injury.

Bute would handle Froch pretty easily.

I've not seen Bute fight, so I am very much open to correction, but as far as I'm concerned, the only way to beat Froch would be to go at him and swamp him with an all action style. When he is given space he is accurate and his punches are vicious, and his hooks and uppercuts are among the hardest in the division. He is not to be underestimated is what I'm saying. Bring on some proper opposition, and we shall see where he really is, but then again that is applicable to most of the up and comers in the SMW.

mate i would be worring if i was up coming against Froch. Are you trying to say he is crap or summit? yer i do agree with you about it being a risk for Froch as well. But can you really see Bute coming to England or him going to Germany to fight him? its all about bottle mate and i cant see either one going for it. A fight in America could maybe be on the cards im not sure. But i fancie Froch winning it :P

Bute throws a lot of punches, and he's got good handspeed, better than Froch's. Maybe not as good one punch power as Froch, but he's got solid power and because he throws a lot he gets a lot of stoppages. Defense is not bad for a guy that's an offensive fighter, skilled fighter overall. I think he'd beat Froch, who's just too easy too hit. Bute's fought pretty good opposition for a guy with less than twenty fights, but its still a bit hard to tell if he's got a real good chin, he's pretty much dominated the fights I've seen him in. Not saying its impossible that Froch could catch him with something big and stop him, but from what I've seen of the two, and I've seen four of Froch's fights, Bute is IMO clearly the better fighter so I'd definitely pick him if it happened.

He looks alright there.

But I really don't expect Lacy to bull forward with his head without even throwing a jab(unless he hurts his shoulder again)
