You kidding? That is one of the most exciting divisions in all of boxing right now. Some of the champs have been plagued by inactivity but that is a great division.
I'd have to disagree Amat,O Neill Bell v Mormeck was a good fight but other than that,I have seen nothing from this division and that situation does not look like it'll change anytime soon!
Strongly disagree. The best thing about the cruiserweights is that all of the top fighters have fought and are fighting each other. I mean, disregarding the prospects who haven't yet broken the mold in the division (Enzo, Haye, Banks)
1. O'Neil Bell (26-1-1)
2. Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (37-1)
3. Steve Cunningham (19-1)
4. Jean-Marc Mormeck (32-3)
5. Guillermo Jones (33-3-2)
That's ESPN's top 5 in regards to the cruiserwights. ALL of these guys have fought someone else from this list. Bell fought Mormeck. Wlod fought Cunningham. Mormeck fought Bell and Jones fought Cunningham aswell. Outside of maybe the featherweights and the lower divisions, this isn't happening in any other division. The Mayweathers aren't fighting the Hattons, Margaritos or Cottos. The heavyweight champions aren't fighting each other. Calzaghe isn't interested in Kessler. Yet the cruiserweights are a division in which everyone is fighting everyone. Then you have a new blood that is being injected that have a lot of people excited. Haye and Banks are two of the better prospects in all of boxing and the are both cruiserweights.
I think the only thing holding the cruiserweights back is TV. HBO isn't really quick to put a cruiserweight title fight on BAD and that doesn't leave many time slots for a cruiserweight title fight that someone like Don King or Warriors boxing would like. Showtime has been good about pushing cruiserweights but it hasn't been enough thus far to help save the division from inactivity. But when they are active the best are fighting the best.
Nice points and I actually didn't know that they had fought each other and that is a positive BUT I don't know, something about those fighters doesn't stir me....There's no real mouth watering match ups there for me at all!! And I know you say they have fought each other but isn't it a messy division nontheless,I mean there is no real champ is there?>(I heard Bell was stripped of 1 of his titles_) May be I'm wrong and I'll give it a chance but thus far, there is nothing thats made me stand up and take notice, apart from the Momeck Bell fight which was class!
You made valid points though so CC bro and I'll definitely keep an eye out for the cruiserweight fights. Any fights which you recommend I should see?

Bell is the undisputed champ. No questions, his fight with Mormeck was a unification one and he is the champ all across the board. First undisputed champ since Holyfield. He was supposed to fight Cunningham and they had a June date arranged but it fell through with one of the reasons being the TV situation. So Cunningham fought Wlod and lost a split decision (if you can find that one I would CC you for a week because I'm dying to see that one) Jones - Braithewaite was a really good back and forth fight with a surprise ending and a bizarre aftermath. Other then that, I haven't seen many fights at cruiser because of the lack of exposure. If you can get a hold of any Haye fights, he's fun to watch. Jonathan Banks - Eliseo Castillo was a really good fight on Friday Night Fights a while back.
CC returned.

Don't take this the wrong way, cuz it's not meant that way. You post a lot. And I do read a good amount of them. You seem to have good boxing knowledge at times. Other times I get the impression your severely limited in your knowledge. For you not to know that Bell is the one true Ring magazine recognized Cruiserweight champion was surprising. It's something a hardcore fan would know. Which is something I always considered you.

Well,I've only been a boxing fan for 2 years so I'm still learning but I wouldn't say severly limited,if I know I don't know anything about a certain area,I don't post there. I knew Bell was the 1 true champ as rated by Ring but I didn't know we were talking about that and I was merely pointing out that I'm sure he had 1 of his titles taken away, that's all. And dam right I'm a hardcore fan!! ;D Sory for any confusion.
Re: Cruiserweight scandal in Germany...
Hey I am not just a hater of the Cruisers though...I hate all Jr and super divisions....IMO I wish things were back the way they were in the old days....Welter,,Middle,,Light heavy,,,heavy ect...tooo many titles tooo many watered down divisions.....tooo many pretenders and IMO sometimes in these divisions seperated by like 5lbs is obsurd...Nothing against the Cruisers in particular IMO they are all bullshit...Just IMO
