If he breaks his hands,it is up to Oscat to find him and KTFO Floyd. If he doesn't,Floyd will most likely win a decision. May be Floyd will run like Oscar did in the final few rounds against Tito!!

Oscar has always fought the best out there and he deserves respect for that. He has a strange record though,he beat Quartey(some though he should have lost)beat Sturm(again, some say he should have lost), lost to Shane twice(I thought he won the first one I think),lost to Tito(was a close fight) and lost to B Hop. In all those fights, none really lived up to the hype for me except the first Mosley fight which was electric, and the B Hop fight was ok too.The Quartey fight was brilliant to watch too but the others were disappointing and add the Pernell fight as another not so exiciting fight and dubious decision too. It's a mixed bag isn't it but the man deserves kudos for everything he's done for boxing and for fighting alot of great fighters.
I'm guessing,if Oscar does not KO Floyd(he doesnt usually win his big fights via ko),it'll be a close decision win(for Floyd imo) and there will be a rematch.

I disagree with it.
Oscar was doing very well with Trinidad & that was a master class showing to me. The fact that he fwocked up the last 3 rounds...many fighters do it...so it wasn't that much of a shocker for me...the shocker was that they actually gave Tito the fight.
Against Mosley? I was there for the second one...he won that fight IWO.
Against Bernard? I loved the fight. I thought that Oscar was doing very well until the stoppage...if you get dropped...you just get dropped & Oscar was in with a man that outweighed him in a big way. Oscar aint a middleweight.
Against Sturm? Sturm's a hell of a fighter & Oscar aint a middle...even if he were...I think that Sturm would have beaten him anyways. Even though Oscar was given the decision & even though Sturm got beaten by Castillejo, I still hold Sturm in high regard.

Controversial? PBF has the skills not to be KO'd. It won't be surprising if he survived 12 rds.

Agreed. Wouldn't be shocked meself.
Re: Hmmm Will ODLH vs PBF be a big LET DOWN?????
This fight will only not live up to the hype if, A) Its a draw, B) Its a DQ), C) It's a BS decision or D) Its a track meet and all four of those scenarios are in my nightmares permanantly. I want to know who is the best, I want to know convincingly, and I want both guys to put it all on the line. I won't take sides, or want one to win more than the other if they both give their all. I just want the winner to fight Hatton. Then win or lose in 2 of the 3 possible fights, PBF v ODLH, Hatton v PBF or Hatton v ODLH, I can die a happy man.

When your'e a fan of a certain fighter...you usually dig on the match up...no matter who it is. Then again...when you expect too much...your'e always going to get let down.
I enjoyed the Baldo Mayweather fight & still don't get the crying...it was a shut out per the norm for Floyd.
I agree that when your favourite fighters are involved, you tend to enjoy the fight more and I also agree that it won't live up to expectations but if it really is PBF's last fight,if all the pussy like crying was real, then,I hope he goes out with a bang and NOT like a Baldo fight. When Winky Wright walks out of a fight, that tells you something!
Goes out with a bang like Litzau?
Re: Hmmm Will ODLH vs PBF be a big LET DOWN?????
I can guarantee that this is gonna be a great fight. People look at Floyd and Oscar's style and they automatically assume that they are just gonna be bouncing in front of each other landing jabs all night. This is gonna be a GREAT fight.
Reasons why this will be a GREAT fight:
- The ring is gonna be small so that means less room to manuever for Floyd so we will see the majority of the fight in the pocket or with Floyd close to or around the ropes. Floyd has actually done most of his great work backing up or on the ropes.
- While the two might be boxers, both are boxer-punchers. Don't let the Baldy fight fool you. Floyd fights are usually entertaining and great to watch. While Floyd never throws huge shots, he is active over all 12 rounds.
- Both fighters believe that they can win. While Oscar might be a great boxer, he will stand his ground and trade combos with boxers. If you've watched him, he's pretty much done it in all his fights. Floyd does too!!! In fights where he has been facing someone that's viewed as having a good power at their weight like Corrales and Judah, there are points where Floyd will actually stand and trade with fighters and use his great defense while doing it. There WILL be great exchanges guaranteed.
- Oscar De La Hoya is not afraid of Floyd's power. Oscar believes that he is the one with power and since Floyd is always active pretty much, we know that there will be a good number of punches thrown per round.
- Floyd finally gets his double digit paycheck. This is huge. The first half of the Baldomir fight was decent, the last half was pretty boring. The entire reason that Floyd put his foot on the gas was his ODLH paycheck. When he fought Judah, he wasn't really thinking fully about ODLH at the time, so we saw Floyd moving forward, trading, and really putting in some good work until Round 11 and 12 after the melee. And everyone said Judah had KO power at 147 going into the fight. Now that Floyd has his huge double digit paycheck, he's got nothing to lose except the 0 on his record. If he wins then he won't retire, if he loses then he already said that he was gonna retire. He's got no reason to run in this fight unless and gets caught and needs to collect his composure. Merchant has been acting like Floyd has been running in fights his entire career, but if you look at Floyd's career, he's been in decent to great fights his whole career with exception to the last half of the Baldy fight where he was clearly trying to just get to ODLH safely.
- De La Hoya will not allow another HUGE fight to go down the drain due to him not working. The whole point of this fight is to see if ODLH can finally get that win on a HUGE stage that has been eluding him his whole career.
- Both fighters know that this will play into how they are remembered. They will go in feeling like they have to look good. And they will try.
You people that think that Floyd is a boring fighter based on the Baldy fight are fucking idiots. Don't let Merchant's senility affect your judgment. This will be a great fight and anyone that doesn't watch it is pretty much just a casual fan that only wants to watch bombfests. I'm so ready for this shit.

No dude, you can go out of a fight with a bang without being KTFO......not all boxers need to turn a fight into a track meet, there have been many great boxers who could at least put a combo together or something more than potshot and run. If anything,PBF's performance against Baldo put Oscar more into prespective for me,the guy was banging with Mayorga at 154! I thought if he were to do that,he would get KTFO.
Re: Hmmm Will ODLH vs PBF be a big LET DOWN?????
I dont think the fight will be as good as everyone expects. Dont get me wrong I cant wait to see it, but I also couldnt wait for the Baldomir and Judah fights either.
PBF has the ability to hit and run all night even with Oscar, but I really, really hope he tries to beat up Oscar and make an exiting fight because I think his fans deserve it (im a fan but he aint one of my favourite fighters).
I say UD for Floyd is the likely outcome.
Re: Hmmm Will ODLH vs PBF be a big LET DOWN?????
The thing is Oscar is a real Light Middleweight. PBF is not. Moving to Welterweight was risky for Floyd imo, but he fought with the skill advantage. Against Oscar, his only advantage is speed and maybe at Lt. Middleweight not so much. This should be a close fight but dont be surprised to see oscar use some grit and win a controversial split or majority decision. If oscar gets his respect early in the fight by hurting him early, he will win imo.
Re: Hmmm Will ODLH vs PBF be a big LET DOWN?????
floyd can crack (not his hands). i mean he can punch. with real decent power.
its just that his punches doesnt have the 'weight' to shake or to wobble or
to knock his opponent down. first of all lets all go back, when he was at super feath,
he was seldomly the smaller guy. he is a fan of the diet club then.
he starves himself to make 130. im sure after weigh-ins, he adds some ample weight before.
the result. most of his opponents got knockouted. then he went up. comfortable is the word.
he never put-in substancial amount of weight after weigh-ins on his previous fights.
cuz if he does. what may just happen to his best weapon. its speed.
this time he'll be forced to add - atleast. remember speed is power.
physics also says that the heavier the puncher is the more force is exerted.
its a big gamble for floyd. speed at 154. uncertained. actually, he doesnt really need to exactly weigh
154. in fact 147.1 is enough to make him a jr. middleweight. but i think he has to take the risks
if floyd at 154 can carry the handspeed - not the just the quick combinations, i mean the speed of his 'best punches'
(which is the overhead right and the left hook). then he should add some significant sting on his punches.
i saw pac did this on his last fight (here i go again). he weighed 144 right? look at what he did.
and boy floyd does throws punches with tremendous precision. that is a factor.
plus the muscles. hopefully the speed. im not saying he would KO oscar.
but he should earn oscars respect and that little sting would make him cautious
and ODLH should be forced to play some familiar waiting game. and we all know
its floyds game. hit. duck. weave. run. hit. run. dodge. hit
FLOYD MAYWEATHER (AND MANNY PACQUIAO) is starting a campaign - for the breed of boxers
staying at a particular weight limit where they feel comfortable at and doesnt need
to starve themselves then rushes to add weight before fight night.
floyd is not the kind of guy who weighs 180 on a normal day then forces
himself to lose 40 pounds within 8 weeks..
aside from their talents, skills and passion for boxing that made me love 'em
these kind of fighters never gives me the worries that they may not make the weight
or they may be involve in any conspiracy. money is secondary for these warriors
ohh shet wut the fucck im talkin about i aint cracked :biting:
P.S.
as much as i think oscar gave us an 'oscar nominee' performance
against 'nard... i doubt if he'll do that again.. this may be his last
fight (thats what he said) and floyd aint 40 years old and i dont think he sees
him as a potential business partnah ;D FLOYD by UD.
