i disagree pryor had iron chin he proved he was better than arguello in rematch aswell he was too much of an animal for arugello he kept coming and coming and made him fought at a pace early that he doesnt normally fight at pryor was angry aswell if u see documentary he was annoyed that they said mr arugello but didnt say mr pryor when they announced them in the ring and pryor was champion so after that he was determined to beat arguello and so annoyed nothing was going stop him he was laughing at arguellos right hands it was amazing then the way pryor had to change his style into a boxer after arguello was catching up was excellent pryor was almost unbeatable that night

I don't have any problem with Margarito, I like Floyd but I'm not one of his obsessive groupies, but I just have to ask what do you seen in Margarito that compares, stylewise, to Arguello? Just wondering.

Not really an answer to my question but ok...

Margarito fights I've seen: Sergio Martinez, Antonio Diaz, Danny Perez, Six Heads Lewis, Kyvelos, Santos 2, Lujan, Cintron, Gomez and Clottey

Arguello fights: Both Pryor fights, Rooney, Mancini, Bobby Chacon, Olivares, and Escalero.

So, I wouldn't have thought of them as very similar, so was just wondering

Well agree, to disagree.....
I personally DO think Panama Lewis was VERY capable of doing such thing and DID do it. If he was capable of contributing to a boxers death then mixing a drink would be a no brainer for him.
Not sure how many times you've seen Pryor-Arguello I, but if you study it carefully and watch and listen to the way the puches were landing on Pryor that night you can see that they were taking effect. Pryor is almost out on his feet on 1 occasion in the fight, prior to the drink and some way some how after the famous drink it's like he comes back to life. His energy level is up and hes fresh and ready to go the, in the 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Arguello lands some of the hardest punches and you can clearly SEE & HEAR them I mean Pryors head snaps back like a bobble head.

Also it was clear that by the re-match Arguello was no longer the same fighter as he once was. Once your in a fights like the ones they were in you're NEVER the same.

I personaly am a fan of Margarito. Truth be said though he nis in no way shape or form in the same class of fighter that Arguello was......Forget the Arguello who fought at 140 I am talking the Super Featherweight version of Alexis...That was a legend at work...Like Mick said he was like an artist in the ring

Although I agree with some of the points you made DG,but I think ALexis was technically so much better and had the fundamentals on lock down.However,the points you made are true I guess,but Arguello was just so much tighter and compact.

No way, shape, or form?
Tall skinny, always going foward, throws lots of punches, goes to the body, has a deadly uppercut, gets hit, throws wild punches, sometimes fights squared up and is tough as nails.

I did not say they were spitting images of each other, there are just some slight subtleties in their styles by comparison.
