Its actually quite a big honour, its a way for the government, and the monarchy of saying that its been noticed that the country loves you, and we commend you for it.

Im sure the Queen is a very nice old lady and her family is as dysfunctional as any other family, but people really dont need their recognition...we shouldnt elevate these people...

I recently read Hatton's biography and his mindset is obviously somewhat different to mine. He is nationalistic and a proud English man and im sure the Queen for him represents something of this "Englishness" that he respects. Im not knocking Hatton because he is one of my favourite fighters and he seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

I just think politically Im on a different wavelength. John Lennon returning his MBE after realising that wasnt what he was all about. That speaks more to me really.

Agreed about being the king. It must be nice to be be Prince Phillip. The freedom to constantly make outlandish and rascist comments and all the time sit atop my throne beyond all the critisism enjoying the high life! ;D

I think it is pretty cool that you guys have a king/queen. I think that is a major problem with the U.S. We have the impossible task of selecting someone who is good at PR as well as actually getting stuff done. You all have a PR person and a prime minister.
