Abraham hurt Miranda...I'm sorry...he did. Miranda was on queer street twice...but recovered & Abraham was almost out & broken apart...but went on.
Not sure how a rematch goes...I just aint.
It depends on what's mentally there for Abraham.
If Abraham comes in scared, Miranda TKO's him.
You make a good point ! I favor Miranda in a rematch , I feel he won it the first time . but your right about that head butt.. it didn’t do anything to Abraham , but it was flagrant non the less. And that kind of of B.S. is no good for boxing. CC#2537
It was a stupid move. But it was by no means hard or meant to hurt Abraham. It was purely out of frustration that Abraham kept clinching and the ref would let him get away with it. He was just trying to give him a little "get the fuck off of me already" tap!
I hear ya brother , and I can relate ! I hate clinchers more then life itself ! LMFAO.. I always do a running in place and bounce when I get clenched repeatedly . snap their jaw back with my shoulder !
your right , the first foul is clenching which was done by Abraham. . excellent point mate ! :coolclick:

Why were they throwing things? You hear/see any racists? And indeed I agree, the jusges would have been killed, and I think Miranda was a very very brave fighter for taking the fight and he did not seemed fazed by the crowd at all! Did you fly out to see the fight?!
And dam right,Miranda needs a nice hair cut!!!
The fight was in Wetzlar, a small town that was once run by the Jews. During the War it was destroyed by the Nazi's. Like many small towns who do not have the exposure of tourism, a lot of the 'old' ways still run strong in the local's blood. So yes, I did see racism in the town when Miranda was walking the streets. Nothing direct but some strange looks. And to honest with you, I never saw another black person in Wetzlar and only a handful through most of Germany. Some of the more friendly people told us about the town and that many of the people there do not like Jews or blacks.
At the fight, there was not one fan of Miranda. People were yelling and screaming things, but being all in German I understood nothing. I can only assume they threw things since the ref made Miranda look so dirty in the fight and they probably blamed that on why their Abraham hero got so destroyed. And you really have to understand Edison to know why he was so unfazed. I really do not think the fear that most people have exists in his body. He has been through so much in his life and has a strong belief in God. He feels that God has a purpose for him and there is nothing that he will ever do that will give him a feeling of fear. Even right after the fight, Miranda had a big smile on his face and pointed to the sky as if to say, "Don't be upset. God has a purpose for me." He really is a good person. He just has a great sense of humor and likes to speak. Sometimes after the interpretation, he comes off sounding too strong. But he really is just trying to have fun and sell the fight!
Here is a pic of Miranda right after the fight with Abraham. You can see the big smile on his face. You would never guess he just got the Middle weight belt stolen away from him! Oh, and yea. He got a haircut right after the fight as you can see against Gibbs.

Fantastic post brother, that was like a history and boxing lesson! The more I hear and see of Edison, the more I like him! I also agree, the headbutt was a little frustration, nothing more, nor was it painful as it came from the top of his head, not his forehead and alllllllll that hair must have cushioned the blow. Thanks for te pic too,I owe you a cc later today.

Of course, taking into account the points deductions,Abraham won but like I said,Arhtur could have been deducted a point, the fight could have been stopped and the low blow calls were BS. ALLLL were on the beltline, the ref needs to learn the rules of boxing the prick.
Abraham did huRT Miranda but Miranda broke his face literally! Had Edison gone to the body more earlier,he could have done EVEN more damage in the later rounds. And just looking at the fight, minus the point deductions,Miranda beat his ass. Abraham was running and holding the last few rounds too!
I give him credit for carrying on with a busted mouth but I give Pantera credit for travelling to Europe. NoW it is time for Abraham to be a man and fight in front of impartial judges and a decent ref stateside,we'll see what kind of man he really is.

Thanks! It was a very educational experience to see what happened first hand, especially behind the scenes. Some of the things that happened and how the promoter tried to control everything from the beginning could be written into a fascinating book. I had heard the saying that "In Germany you need to knock your opponent out two times just to get a draw" before we went. How true that really is!
Another unusual thing that happened that took Miranda out of his game plan was the announcement they made over the load speaker in the 7th round that Miranda would be DQ'd if he was called for another low blow. This was translated to the corner and Jose Bonilla (Miranda's trainer) told Edison he must stay away from the body and only go head hunting. It seemed that at that point there was no way Abraham was going to be able to survive another 5 rounds. I was sure the ref was waiting to find something else he could call low so he could DQ Miranda and take Abraham out of danger. All Abraham had to do now was keep that tight cover over his head and run, which is what he pretty did. I was rather surprised that in round 11 when Miranda was once again called for a low blow (complete bullshit this time for sure) that he was not DQ'd by Neumann. The only thing I could guess was that Neumann knew after a 5 minute rest Abraham might be able to recover enough to finish the final round.
As far as the rematch happening in the USA, don't count on it. As long as Abraham fights in his protected crib he will never lose a fight. HBO would be the only reason Abraham would be brought here and they have no interest in him at this time. My only hope is that Edison continues to win and one day, maybe 1-2 years from now, the fight can be made here in the USA. And let Miranda get his sweet revenge!
