Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
Yep,Brazilianbombe, they indeed grapple naked but what makes it so sick/funny is the positions they get into?!!!?!!? You MUST see it! And the scene towards the end,Borat attempts to kidnap Pamela Anderson, that was funny shat too!
Kill Bill has alot of standout scenes too and Pulp Fiction, that speech from the bible by Samuel L Jackson was awesome!
The battles scenes from Lord of teh Rings were the most epic and grand battles I have seen!

Of course, that never actually happened as William Wallace was a cross-border bandit who never won a pitched battle against anyone. He did not sleep with the Queen and he make no stirring speeches of record.
In fact, on his first serious military engagement, he was annihilated in battle, captured and then hung, drawn and quartered in London.
Also, he never battled 'the Brits' - only the English and various groups of Irish.
The Welsh were not there - and bearing in mind it was Welsh archers that won Crecy and Agincourt, I doubt he would have been making many stupid speeched with 3 feet of ash sticking out of his face ;D
But still, apart form that, it was a good film. I'm surprised he didn't manage to fit in any Jew-bashing in the two hours it was on ;)

1. The helicopter assault in Apocalypse Now - "I love the smell of napalm in the morning", and they are surfing while being shelled.
2. "Time to die" - the confrontation scene at the end of Blade Runner when Deckard is rescued by the Rutger Hauer android.
3. The King of the Jungle scene at the beginning of King Kong when they first see him.
4. The Alien coming out of John Hurt's stomach
5. "I'm not an animal, I'm a human being" - THAT scene in the Elephant Man.
...... so many to choose from !!!

X,is the Elephant man good? I've never seen it.....
Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
I'm quite cold-hearted and it made me want to cry like a baby.
If you're going to watch it, be prepared.
Brilliant film - all the better for being absolutely true.

Rocky 4 when rocky beats drago across the ring during their fight.
Rocky 1 when he gets up in round 14 and waves his arms in a "bring it on" kinda motion.
Cinderella man when he gets hit with a heavy punch and his mouth piece flies out and all he thinks about is the empty beds where his kids used to sleep and they aren't with him anymore because he doesn't have the money to pay for the heating bills. He just looks, smiles, and puts his mouth piece back in.
This is a powerful movie scene, Rocky beats the undefeatable fighter, someone who hits with thousands of pounds of pressure, and at the same time the Russian crowd is cheering his name. Good times.
Seriously tho if you slaughtered your last opponent and this guy who's half your size just won't let up how can you deal with that?

Yea, I was just speaking on the movie not on actual event, if that was the case I would have to remove the exorcist scene as well, there is no evidence saying "your mom sucks cock in hell" but it was still a great scene. As far as your views on William Wallace I can tell you are not a fan of his, I only read one book on him and it pretty much had the same views on him, many time's people will try to spread negative propaganda on his myth or legend because of the popularity of the film, but to tell you the truth it won't stop anybody from liking the movie. And there was a statue built for William Wallace so he must of been doing something right.

I actually forgot about this scene, I would have had it in my top 5.
Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
In no particular order...
Matrix Reloaded.... Neo takes on 30+ Agent Smiths... Absolutley jaw dropping every time!
Children of Men.... Army invade Immigrant Camp........ Intense, graphic, brilliantly cinematic and well sustained action!
Saving Private Ryan.... When the German Knifes the U.S Soldier....Thats it for me!
Paparatzi.... Cop first questions movie star..... Vey, very clever script. Cop lays an absolute minefield!
King Kong... When the dinosaurs stampeed..... I was just like WTF?!Slow and Horrifying
Honerable mention
Saving Private Ryan.... German Soldier digging himself two holes.... Clever metaphoric humor
Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
Scareface " Say hello to my little friend"
Apocalypse Now " "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"
Dirty Harry " Make my day"
Pulp Fiction - Jules "There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this
situation: Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
Pulp Fiction - Marsellus Wallis "No one needs to know about this except you, me and Mr. Soon-to-be-living-the-rest-of-his-short-ass-life-in-agonizing-pain-rapist here." " I ain't through with you by damn sight. I'm gonna get medieval on your ass"
many many more ! ;D O0
Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
Lock,stock, and two smoking barrels
Where Vinnie Jones as big chris and his son little chris go see 'John' in they're first scene while he's in a tanning salon..Love that.
Pulp Fiction.
When Vincent and Jules are talking about just being back from amsterdam.. That possibly tied with the phone conversation between jules and marcellus wallace about ' the wolf' lol cracks me up.
Or maybe..I want a n*gger hidin in his bowl of rice...So hard to choose.a great movie
Snatch.
The scene when gergeous george gets knocked out and the song 'Golden brown' Slowly comes in...
Of Mice and Men
When George has to shoot lennie at the end.
Scarface..
Not sure which scene.. Maybe either the opening prison scene where manny walks through the courtyard to find tony playing basketball.. Alway's liked that..And liked the music that plays..
Or possibly When they are working in the burger place serving onions following to them meeting the guys in the caddy..
Some great one's but a long shot to call definate favourites of all time..
Peace

Oh don't get me worng -I am not an expert on what he did or didn't do! I don't particularly dislike him, but just dislike stupid people erecting statues to a myth because they have so little knowledge of their own history.
It's a bit like the staute of Rocky Balboa in Philadelphia - I mean, look at the great great fighters that city has produced in real life, any they erect a staute to some dumbass actor pretending to be a fighter.
Its the same thing to me - I've no beef with Willie Wally or whatever his name is.
;)
Re: Five Best scenes in movie history. Everybody sound off
Pretty much all Val Kilmers scenes in Tombstone, particularly when he kills Johnny Ringo and when he dies.
Not a 'great' scene but when Jamie Lee Curtis does her strip in True Lies. I used to work part time as an usher at a cinima when that was released, used to watch it about 5 times a day ;D Then go and bash one out in the toilets probably.
