Well this fight will definitely tell me more about Collazo although I personally think he's really skilled. I was unsure at first but after seeing more fights,you can see he's good,tricky. I actually think Hatton won but peeps were expecting a better performance. The fact is,and I'm no big Ricky fan,but he still won. The only thing I dislike is that he said he would rematch Luis and didn't,I thought that sucked but facts are facts,Hatton won. If Luis wins,Hatton's win goes up imo.

thats name of the game bro when your in trouble clinch do whatever u have to do to survive i had hatton winning by 1 point but that was hattons first time at that weight and like hagler said u didnt see real ricky hatton in that fight and i agree with him but i do agree with what your saying vd i would of rematched him aswell would of been better for ricky then to prove doubters wrong

I have watched the fight objectively several times and I think Ricky won it by 1 round by virtue of the 10-8 round - but was so close.
I second that, It was a close fight which I think Hatton just about edged. The early knockdown sealed it.

He beat Collazo and whilst putting in a very average performance with little preparation.
Collazo held all the cards - natural weight, belt holder, american soil...... and blew it !
I will concede he won it by a whisker - but he WON.
Furthermore - if Hatton did get it on again, he would beat him by country mile - Ricky's problem was that he couldnt get up for a fight with a guy he knew nothing about - especially given all his other stressful problems like having to fly to new york 2 weeks before to go to court because of Frank Warren then fly back to the UK again.
He is a simple human being - hell, would anyone want a 3hour airport wait, then a 7 hour flight to a case hearing across the atlantic, then fly all the way back again 2 weeks from your HBO debut?
Combined with the uncertainty that it would even go ahead (Warren tried to scupper it until the night) - it was a 'bad penny' desitned to be doomed.
But Hatton's grit pulled out the narrowest of wins.
So VD & Wacko - digest that.

Ricky's team have been quite open that his preparation was all wrong and he put on the weight to quickly. He entered the ring as a Middleweight at 160lbs. Now for a guy who's hole game plan is work rate and out and out pressure, it's no surprise that this extra weight caused him problems.
Not an excuse it's his teams own fault, but it was a good lesson learnt and at the end of the day he still won the fight
