Zab never gave him the shot he desereved,
Baldomir and PBF both opted to fight eachother. Baldo for $$$ & PBF well yet another div. where he can say hes champ. and skip fighting the real contenders/champ there.
SSM didn't wan't none.
Everything just wen't wrong and if thats not enough, he was inactive for a long as time and the fight he did have was a 1 rounder.
Tough luck, but shit happens.

Gotta disagree, if a small 140 lber. Mitchelle tapped that shin and wobbled Williams, and Mathysse was able to hurt him twice IMO thats a questionable chin.
I like both Williams and Margarito, but I gotta favor Margarito. Williams is excicting and wow! do his long arms and power make for a great fight.
He just lost me when he started this whole 'Gym War' stories.
I didn’t catch the gym war chronicles ! LOL.. :). sum it up for me mate. what he say ?
HE (Williams) said he felt he beat Margarito in a sparring session.
PLEASE!! Williams save your war stories, for Private Ryan.

Agree & disagree with you both...but...I want to say this...
Boxing fans are fucked up as shit...& I should know...I am one.
That being said...more power to Tony for going after Cotto for big money...but no offense Mick...not directed totally at you...but more all Margarito fans...ya'll can't say shit about Floyd now...because what ya'll crucify him for...your bwoy just did.
Now...Mitchell did not wobble Williams. He connected & Williams stopped & stood still & then immediately fired back. Wobbled is to have your knees buckle & almost go down. Mitchell did not hurt Williams...he mighta stunned him...but everyone get's stunned or stung during fights. That's a stretch to say that he was hurt. Williams aint got a questionable chin.
I know you want to show your love for Tony...but that aint necessary.
That being said also...I don't really think that Tony is running from Williams. Everyone is too quick to jump into that running from shit.
Here's the the thing...if a fighter can fight a name & make 2 million or so...or whatever...but they fight a marquee name & make bank & then have a belt that they can drop to get there without having to face a mandatory for half the money...that's business...& I hate to break it to you...boxers work at their jobs & jobs equate to business.
Hence the reason Floyd has not been running from Tony....nor is Tony running from Williams.
I like Williams...but I don't think that he's ready for Tony...& I don't even like Tony.
Anywho...cheers...oh...& koneecheewah bitches. :-*

Much like floyd turnin down 8 million to fight tony, innocent til proven guilty man.
Margarito was never Mayweather's mandatory. He was never obligated to fight Margarito like Margarito is to fight Williams. It would be different if Mayweather would of agreed to fight Margarito and than all of a sudden back out of his word and ran to fight a lesser fighter like certain fighters do.

Nice assesment. WackOff3205 but you see ALL ALONG we the Margarito fans were said be crying and complaining about what was happening. Now that it's the other way around, NOW the PBF fans see what we were talking about.

No he's not man. Margarito would KHTFO. He gets hit far too much, and is not as powerful as Max would have you believe. Plus he looks to possibly be a bit chinny. Margarito would KO him the way I see it.
Re: I don't know wanna hear shit about Tony Margarito again!!!
I didnt read all of that but did Margarito do exactly what Mayweather did to him to fight Baldomir ???

I don't see how you can compare the 2......is Baldo as dangerous as Margarito?HELL NO!! Is Cotto as dangerous as Williams,HELL YES.Simple.The difference is Cotto is for a title, more recognition.NO ONE can say anything if Tony beat Cotto whereas if he beat Williams at this stage, peeps would say the same old BS they always do,he was too young, too green, didn't fight anyone, who is Paul Williams etc etc.
Also, again I state, how foolish is to say Tony is running from Williams when Cotto is even more dangerous?!?! Miguel is on some peeps P4P lists?!!?! Was Baldo? Is Paul? Fook no!!Use your intelligence peeps, you're letting too many things cloud your judgement.
As for Williams,he is a tough fighter,he throws alot and has good accuracy BUT he is more open than Tony and was moved by Sharmba twice,an old Sharmba....Tony looked rusty in his last fight v Clottey, picked up 2 injuries and still won.Tony's punches have mor snap than Paul,he has better D and is just more experienced. He uses his initiative more, look how selective he was v Cintron, the bigger banger. Williams has an attitude that,I'm not going to get hurt ever,sO I won't change my D,i'll leave it open.
And VD,I myself posted an artlcle and I'm sure even in the vid of youtube when Floyd shots his pants when Tony approaches him, that Floyd says,he''ll fight Tony down the line, when it'll be a bigger fight. Where does it say that Margarito does not intend to fight Williams at some point?
And use your initiative again...why do you think Margarito is fighting a 10 rounder?> To check the injury, why would you want fight Williams when you might still be injured? That 10 rouder is to prevent ring rust which there will be if he goes to June 7 to fight Cotto withouth fighting beforehand.
Re: I don't know wanna hear S*** about Tony Margarito again!!!
I dont know about all this I agree with Wacks its all about $$$ thats what these guys do this not just to amuse us.. If you were skilled at your job and one of the better people of your trade would you work for lesser money Fuk No!!! so yes I am not gonna go nuts and call MArgarito a chooch or a Chix shat, but again I think Floyd deserves a shitload of slack if this news pans out, I mean this hasnt been confirmed yet.. Or has it?? That Floyd pooping his pants is so played out anyway.. Lets be real what was Floyd suppose to do, Fly his Lawyer out to the DLH post fight conference immediately to sign the contracts, yea cause clearly thats how fights are made.. ::** (Not directed to you Gamo just making a point)
I said it before and I'll say again Floyd is Maximizing his income potential with the last 2 fights, 18 million bucks is not bad for 6 months of work.. Tony is trying to do the same BUT he is gonna have to shut his mouth and eat a little crow by the path he is going and same with the Margaritos fans they really need to stop terrorizing Floyd and his fans cause again you can accuse Floyd of whatever the hell you want but at the end of the day Margarito is no damn better then is he?
Re: I don't know wanna hear S*** about Tony Margarito again!!!
I think the biggest problem is that Margarito was saying he can't fight again for a bit because of injury, and now is going to fight on the Cotto-Urkal undercard and likely not against Williams. His whole excuse for not fighting Williams was the injury but now it seems the injury isn't bad enough to keep him from fighting. Maybe I'm reading it wrong though. The only reason I could see holding out to fight Cotto would be if he really thought he had a chance at losing to Williams, which would probably throw off the chance of meeting Cotto after his fight with Urkal. Its not like choosing whether you are going to fight Williams or Cotto though. Margarito could fight the mandatory on the undercard then if he wins meet Cotto whenever they were talking about meeting.

You are looking at it the wrong way though. He's fighting a 10 rounder, probably a bum, just to a.}keep fine tuned to prevent any rustiness for the June showdown with Cotto and b.}to see how bad the wrist is. My point is why fight Williams, get it injured in a high profile match with Williams and lose and lose out on a the big match with Cotto too? Secondly, like I said,Tony is not a man to turn down a challenge,I didn't see Williams or anyone else for that matter, giving Clottey a chance. Tony will fight Williams at some point.
Also, peeps make out Williams is some monster and physically he is but it's amazing how many peeps have seen him fight once or twice and he is the saviour of the WW division, the next big thing etc when Margarito has been fighting by far and away a higher level of opposition for a MUCH longer peiod of time and he is dissed? The fickleness of boxing fans. ;D :D

None of that is out of the question, to me it is more of the attitude presented by Margarito and some of the things he has said that I think it is really unfortunate he won't be fighting Williams next, it also opens up the belt to being won by someone who didn't have to beat a champion to get it. If you think Margarito will be fighting Williams in the future though wouldn't it be best to get him while he is still real green?

:coolclick: good post;
Cotto is arguably the best at 147 with mayweather moving up to 154 to fight floyd, toni is giving up his title to chase a fight with cotto, if as so many believe toni has been avoided, or not had the shots he deserved giving up a title and getting ranked with the other belts will give them no option but to fight him.
How can people question him running from williams when hes trying to secure a fight with cotto?
