Boxings been on it's deathbed for as long as I can remember. Yet it never dies. That's cuz it can't die. I ain't worried about this UFC shit. Boxing ain't going anywhere.

u need to watch pride ;)
ufc is like 97% amatuer guys who wouldnt be much good after 10 years as a pro anyway, you need to watch pride, the jobbers from pride could come to ufc and be champs
Re: HBO to show UFC! What does this mean for boxing?
As much as i despise mma in its entirety i can stand watching a couple pride matches here and there if there's nothing else on tv. I still don't want mma to be a dominating sport money making wise, but if it must be shown on tv i would perfer them show pride than ufc.
Re: HBO to show UFC! What does this mean for boxing?
I think boxing would improve if people just quit settling for less. Mayweather/ de la hoya is what the sport needs. Might be boring, might not be but it is without a doubt one of the best matchups available for the sport. They need to quit chasing history by taking the easy route.
Boxing isn't about money, it's about making other people shut up. It's about proving critics wrong by taking the high road regardless of money. One big fight will net you 1mil+. Now i don't know about anyone else but 1mil would easily supply a comfortable living environment for me. There's no need to get shiny wheels or exspensive shoes when they are gonna come incontact with dirty surfaces 99% of the time they are in use.

That's why I like the lower weight classes, you don't see those guys on MTV cribs, but they sure as hell don't duck each other. (WONGJONKAM is the exception ;) )

Indeed they are probably the best skilled athletes in the sport come from dirt poor backgrounds and fight for everything they get but because they aren't over eating they don't get noticed.

some of the pride guys are coming to UFC. Crocop is fighting a UFC fight in Feb., and he might be the best they have to offer.

hey i still think all mma is a joke but atleast pride fights are manageable to watch because i don't have to hear joe rogan praise some bum when he wins a fight in a garbage way.
Re: HBO to show UFC! What does this mean for boxing?
Piss on UFC. I really don't think these guys are as talented as boxers. I think it is an inferior sport. I hate it and hope they all try a real hobby. My friends watch UFC, and to be frank I am friends with immature people with a short attention span who don't appreciate boxing. They also don't appreciate reading either.
I only buy Showtime and HBO to see fights. The day they cut back seriously on boxing they will lose a customer and I don't think I am the only one. They charge way to much to show the same fucking shows over and over.
Re: HBO to show UFC! What does this mean for boxing?
I said this was gonna happened but the problem is that SHOWTIME like HBO will make the same dammage they did to boxing because the only fights they are going to show are the one they say it's not gonna be like now that everyone fights everyone.
O ther stuff I notice is tha boxers aroun their 30's and don't se any $$$ soon in their life are turning into MMA. there is gonna be some woop ass in there unless they start the huggin in the ground
" brokeback wrestling" :o

cc Exactly!
Which is why HBO just did a VERY STUPID MOVE on it's part. Just when it practically had a monopoly on big fights. Pacquiao, Mayweather, Wladimir, Mosley, Barrera and much more.
