The Press didn't help him get into the ring at all, the camera is right there as Benn pulls himself up on his own, yes there was a dodgy ref but he was French and i doubt he would knowingly help a British fighter win, he was just crap. And that last part is just pathetic VD, i don't see you fighting you arse off showing enormous heart in an all time great fight so he's more of a man than you'll ever be. Perhaps it could have stopped in the first, it wasnt and thats history - deal with it

McClellan was brought over to KOd Nigel make no mistake, they wanted Benn out of it for asking for to much money. Ben was not supposed to win.

Some people should rewatch the following footage. Benn goes down no doubting that, press row put up their hands (defence mechanism) as they do anywhere else in the world and Benn climbs back into the ring unassisted before the count reaches ten. American commentary too, none of that terribly biased British stuff.
The referee is fussy, no doubting that, but to be honest did he really help Benn THAT much? Benn was looking after himself pretty well considering the shelling he was getting.

Referee was crap, but if there was a fix in place it was for the G-man to get rid of Benn.
Having watched the fight, I don't think you can cast any aspersions on what sort of man Nigel Benn is. >:mad
