JoeCal is a fucking idiot. He wants to be a star but he needs to realize that beating an old ass B-Hop and a shot RJJ won't mean shit. He's not gonna become a star in the States with one fight. Even with Pacquiao's amazing TV fight style, it took him four or five big-time tough fights to become an attraction in the States. You still never hear of Pacquiao on ESPN or in the mainstream. The only fighters that have mainstream star power in the US are ODLH and on a much, much, smaller scale, Floyd Mayweather, then Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley and Winky Wright, and then the Klitschkos.
He's not gonna be a star regardless so he might as well go out as a legend in the sport by beating Kessler, which would jump him into top five P4P, and allow the boxing public to call him one of the best SMW ever. Beating Jeff Lacy didn't mean shit, it just exposed Jeff Lacy. I don't have a problem with JoeCal taking on a JT or a Winky Wright, but he needs to fight Kessler. He's already lost all of the support that he got from beating Lacy and now people are starting to hate him. Talk about counterproductive.

Fair enough, The only thing is i can see Calzaghe boxing circles round kessler and if he does then all he will get is 'well kessler was an overrated, untested european bum'
The only way IMO that JC will get his dues is to go over to america and fight Taylor and wright (even at middleweight) I dont even think hopkins would be worth fighting anymore due to his age.
On another note though, It does appear that Calzaghe is avoiding Kessler so i think the only way its going to happen is for Kessler to get in the ring with a 'TOP' american guy on the same night or around the same week as calzaghes next fight. Get him more exposure in the US while the hype machine will be in full flow on JC. If HBO/showtime want it to happen, im pretty sure it will be made.

On bbc teletext Calzaghe was saying that manfredo is a league below him and that he is finding it hard to get up for the fight! I think it is more to do with frank warren why joe isnt fighting the big names.Its about time he demanded to fight the top names he is nt getting any younger.
