Re: religious fighters/ fighters with a country in their shoulders
I remember before the Barrera Hamed fight all the palaver what a load of Bollocks
Re: religious fighters/ fighters with a country in their shoulders
i remember it aswell scrap. hamed had to say his little arabic speach before the fight and he had to have the yellow gloves because hteey were the colour of islam or something, so barrera settled with the green gloves, but then naz wanted them ones instead (or the colours the other way around). i think the commision had to settle with the same gloves in the end. naz caused a right load of fuss.
Re: religious fighters/ fighters with a country in their shoulders
My complaint is the fighters who feel the need to kneel in their corner and pray before the fight and give all the credit to their Lord and Savior in the post-fight interview. There are plenty of religious fighters who don't need to do any of that. You can pray before you come out, you can pray when you wake up, why do you need to do it right then? It's like they have to make a show of their faith. And the ones who think God's going to 'give them the victory' are the worst. What if they're both Christians- who's God going to back then?

yep hands down;
n BBC3 few nights ago there was a doc about that fight, and Louis v Schmeling II was just out of this world watched/listend too... there were something like 130 million people in the us at the time, and they said over 70million people tuned into it. Yankee stadium was full with over 70,000 people in there watching the fight. The fight was broadcast live to the german army, you would asume most of, if not all were listening to that fight - same for the US army?
One of the people who was talking about the fight said something like"after louis had one, for the first time we felt that hittler could be stopped" im paraphrasing but it was something like that...

Then I'm glad I missed it. I don't care who you worship; just get in the ring and spank some booty.
