He will be..
Out boxed
Out worked
Out Smarted
Out jabbed.
Out cold.
Out of the picture
Out of Boxing.
The memories of Ibeabuchi and Tua's past greatness is all that he
(and we) have left
Yea I think you may be right.. He was exciting to watch for a few rounds but in several of his bigger fights he just plodded being steadily outboxed and finally got the big shot in.. Against top HW's right now he may not be able to land that big shot, or last long enough to. If I were him I'd just go for the weakest champs as a final goal, either fight Valuev or Briggs.. He could win those fights if he got in shape.

That Tua is gone and never coming back. The Tua now may even fight to a decision against Hawkins
That'll probably be more due to the fact that Hawkins has some good wiskers.....
But I'm willing to bet that Tua stops him..... 8)
If Peter couldn't stop hawkins, neither can tua.
This will be a snooze fest.
I was a fan of tua, but after his layoff, I have not been impressed.
Re: next for tua robert hawkins
Don't get me wrong LG. I liked Tua.
Tua? / Briggs? hmm maybe if Shannon has another Asthma attack
Tua / Valuev ? 5'3 vs 7'3" LOL that would be funny!
Tua couldn't reach Valuev's chin if he stood on James Toney's shoulders!

LOL.. True that ! David would be in violation of the rule and regulations as Tua's head would be below the belt line of Valuev .. hehe. automatic disqualification ... Valuev is just to big for boxing .. it is ridiculous ! really is .. should be some type of regulation on that ! 7"4 is fucking ridiculous ! O0
Re: next for tua robert hawkins
In an interview they asked his manager how tall he is and he said
"7' 3 1/2"......but we say 7' cuz we don't want to scare people"
Im not all done on Tua yet..
BUT he was a volume power puncher and that style is hard to maintain as you age. esp with layoffs etc.
IF he can get it back or even be able to rock like the "TUA MAN" of old
for a few rounds?
it will prove interesting and he always has a chance to pound out a KO against any top HW.
I did love the dominating, swarming, power Whacking Tua of OLD!!
Hawkins went the distance with Peter. If Tua whacks him out It might mean something....

Tua WAS a phenom when he fought Ibeabuchi. That was one of the best slug-fests that I've ever seen, but I thought Tua edged out Ike and should have gotten the nod. I have the tape and watched it over a dozen times.
I'm also a HUGE Tua fan! I just wish that he could drop some weight and get a good trainer. He's still young enough and might have a couple of years left in him.

:coolclick: Tua was really coming on strong in the mid and late rounds,, I thought he beat Ike also. one more round and Ibabuchie would have been toast ! David is going to stay active and is on a mission to realize his dream of becoming Heavyweight Champion ! O0

C.C. back, Lords Gym. With the state of the HW division as it stands today, it's certainly not inconceivable that Tua can grab one of the titles. I would love to see a match-up with him and Peter. That would be a barn-burner while it lasted.
Re: next for tua robert hawkins
I would LOVE to see TUA Whack out Vitali OR Wlad..
The odds of the fight happening......ever.....100:1
the odds of Tua being able to do it (based on Lewis fight)
100:1
Total odds of my dream coming true......10,000:1...
BUT! Im still hopin'!!
Remember the quote of Ferdie Pacheco (the Fight Doctor)
"when a good little man, fights a good big man......
the good little man.....gets a good BIG beating...."
Re: next for tua robert hawkins
Lewis looked perfect when he sent Tua bowling into the ring side
