I've had several opp's. to talk with him and share some words. I expressed to him that coming from East L.A. what honor it was to have him represent us in and out of the ring. In the ring hes fought the best out there and has never turned down a challenge. Out of the ring, hes humble and REALLY cares about his struggling people in East L.A. which to me is what matters the most that the work he does is for his people really. Every year the ODHL charities, food donations, gifts during X-Mas and not to mention his youth center that has kept the youth out of those damn! L.A. street gangs....
I wish his youth center would have been there when I was a kid would have loved to join. :)
I grew up in East L.A. and that guy loves his East L.A. people. Hes from our times, Arum, King are out. Boxing has new promoters DBE, Goosen. It's their time and boxing will change for the better.....
Mick also has a tatoo of him :D
The times I have met Oscar he was always polite and humble...He is a man who appreciates what he has accomplished
