Miranda will catch him...but I think that it'll be late & I think that he'll show out for a bit until Edison clocks him. Miranda can be outboxed. It's been done before by Abraham...no matter what anyone says.
Miranda is limited in skill...but he makes up for a lot of it in power & pure aggression.

As to who I'm picking, I've got both Cotto and Miranda by KO. Hardly "going out on a limb", but hey..... gotta pick 'em like I see 'em.
;D
Thanks doggy. Everything should work itself out after a few more weeks...I'm just spread a little thin.
Agreed on the picks. I'll be shocked as S*** if they come out the other way.

Me too...hope it works out that way. :coolclick:
Yeah but Green is a better boxer and he hits harder then Abraham imo. He has knockouts at Light Heavyweight and Super Middleweight, he can crack with the best of them. And Miranda hasn't been hit as hard as Green can and will hit him(the same can be said of Green) but Green has a good boxing style and can outbox Miranda, and who's to say that Miranda will have the enough in him to catch Green late if Green has the power to hurt Miranda it will be a very interesting fight..
Agreed...but I honestly believe that Miranda hits as hard as most of the top 175'ers & I'm more for boxing skills than power...but Miranda has me convinced that he can change the fight with just one shot.
I'd love to see him tested & even dropped...but in the end I think that Green is a hype machine waiting on a breakdown.
So could Miranda be. When they compared him to Julian Jackson....

Certainly not a long shot for green.. A truely great prospect..But we are going to see really how tough green is when they get it on..
Peace
The last 2 he's looked bad against were boxers right, people that move and have upper body movement and give you tons of different angles.
Miranda does neither imo.
You have a good point no doubt..Its valid.. I feel just wait to see what happens on the night.. lol
All i know is the probability for it bieng a great fight is very high ;D
Peace

Fixed it for 'ya.....
I don't think hes been in the ring with the BEST of them.....
His best opponent has been either Linton or Bonsante.....
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Sho
cotto by late stoppage
miranda by ko middlerounds
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
Cotto by KO inside of 6.
Miranda by KO. Not sure when but it will happen. I think Green can outbox him, but then it is just a matter of time before he taste Miranda's power and gets dropped.

Welcome back, Wacko....you have been missed around this place. Here's hoping all is as well as can be with you! :coolclick:
Cotto will win handily IMO, the other with Miranda and Green Im not sure about. Could go either way..

cottos opponent went 12 rounds with kostya so he is obvisiously tough thats why i think it will last into later rounds
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I can't see Green-Miranda lasting 12. Green's best chance is to catch Miranda and hurt him which is not a stretch IMO. But I don't see Green going the full distance, just because he's a "boxer" doesn't mean he has good defense. He leaves his chin up, doesn't move his head, and he doesn't move his feet well. And he's got stamina issues, dropping weight most likely won't help that. But he could catch Miranda early and end it, he does have power, especially the left hook.
Cotto-Urkal's not even really worth thinking about, as close to a gimme as a fight can be.
And Welcome back Wacko. CC.

he fought Bonsante at 162 and he looked just fine, better then he ever has didn't he? And that was just 2 fights ago. I dont think the weight cutting will be an issue for Green.

That's when he was facing the world's best daddy and did whatever he pleased with him. He's going to have to work a lot more versus Miranda. He isn't saying he's going to be exhausted by round 6, he's just saying it probably won't help. And it probably won't. I don't see why it would help...

Because Green will be the bigger man yet again. Like I said Green has fought at Light Heavu and Super Middleweight before, regardless of what Miranda weighs on fight night, he could very well weighh 175 pounds on fight night, but he won't be a 175 pounder.
Green who is the naturally bigger guy if he weighed 170 on fightnight he'd be more 170 then Miranda is 175. You get my point?
And Green has good skill, and I know you say he has these weaknesses with what he does and stuff. But he's only been caught in one fight, and since then he hasnt been. And his bad performances have been against boxers, and Miranda isn't that, and Miranda isn't going to fight going backwards, he's going to come forward, and Green can counter very well it's something John David has worked with him on.
Don't expect Miranda to walk through him. I know Miranda has power, but I think you van agree with me thats the ONLY way he beats Green. As much as you say Green's weaknesses, the ONLY way Miranda is beating Green is if he catches him, other then that Green's going to beat him.
See my point?
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I dont think that Green has a good enough defense to keep Miranda off of him long enough. Unless Green catches Miranda early I think that Miranda pulls out a (T)KO in the late rounds. Abraham is a pretty good boxer and Miranda got to him. Still dont know how Abraham went the distance.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Sho
Well the Cotto fight is going to be a routine 5 or 6 rounder I should imagine so lets move on.
Green vs Mirando, a pick em fight for me.
I voted Miranda on the poll but actually I'll stick my neck out a little bit and say Green beats him.
Miranda is a big puncher and strong but Green can really bang himself, let's not forget Jaidon Codrington, which by the way is possibly the greatest knockout of all time!
Codrington was out cold for 15 minutes and the fight lasted less than a minute! And Codrington was the big favourite before that fight, unbeaten before and since.
Here it is for those who havn't seen it

Green also got rocked by McRary, BUT the crucial fact for me here is that he came back, got up off the floor and won the fight by knocking Donnie out.
He's certainly not going to underestimate Miranda's power either.
I think he can beat Edison. But what a fight!

I see your point, but unfortunately John David is assuming that Miranda is going to come forward and rely on his power and aggression to win this fight. What JDJ did not train for is Pantera actually outboxing Green while coming forward. Somehow I see it different than many that Miranda could actually take it easy and keep Green at a distance and outbox him. Green is cocky and when he gets hit he is going to want to trade. When this happens it will be lights out for Green.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I'm pretty much on the same page as Pantera regarding Green.
Personally...I think that he's overratted & he'll fight stupidly against Miranda. He'll try to make a statement...because honestly...that's all Miranda has been doing & he'll want to one up him on the big screen.
I've started to warm to Miranda which is odd because he embodies all the things in boxing that do not appeal to me. I aint one for brawlers & power punchers...but the man keeps on winning & keeps on making statements punctuated with exclamation marks.
What do ya do?
Anywho...I'm picking Miranda regardless of what abilities that Green has because Abraham is twice the boxer is & their match was a fight. Green may frustrate him in the start...but if Miranda comes out full speed...Green is fwocked.
I'd love another Miranda first round KO...as backwards as that is.
