Former heavyweight title challenger David Tua won his match against Hawkins

Like I said, the tua of the knockout years is gone and isnt coming back and fought to a decision against Robert Hawkins..

But can't the same also be said for the current big, young knockout artist of the HW division... Sam Peter?? I remember Peters looking lackluster against him as well.

Out of 7 losses only one was a KO, why is everyone shitting on Tua for not KOing the guy?

You're not being realistic. You're basing your decision on what you've read and not taking into consideration all of the litigation that's gone on with his former 'trainer'.
I'm not saying that Tua will be the world beater he once was, but he has a realistic attitude and openly admits his ring rust. Whether he corrects these faults is up to him. He's still young enough to have a go at a title if he gets some of his skills back. You just have to give the man a chance. It's not like he's talking crap all of the time like Briggs - he's always a humble and very down-to-earth fighter who admits to his frailties and insists he will correct them.
Let's at minimum give him the opportunity to do so. That's all I'm trying to say.

robert hawkins is a hrd guy to look good against. sam peter couldnt put him away, jus give tua a chance, u lot write fighters off too easily. jus take it easy. he has a chance against all the title holders, jus needs to up his work rate!

Well no David was going for the KO the whole time mate. Hawkins was elusive and on his heals what I call flooring it in reverse .. He was very hard to catch flush Tua applied good pressure but Hawakins was a bit tougher then expected he was pot shoting that jab and moving, making it very hard to set. however as the rounds started going by the Tua body work started paying dividends.. the last 3 rounds David was starting to hurt Hawkins really bad.. the Last round Hawkins was almost out completely, a few more seconds and it would have been a KO win for Tua.. You know , it is what is. ! a few more fights and Tua will be in the mix. working on the diet and staying active is the key ! How have you been mate? hope all is well :coolclick:

i know you are big fan of tua and holyfield but i see no hope for tua at moment if he gets in shape then he definetly can take a world title but at moment its not looking good for tua

It is not an easy road for David that’s for sure , it just takes time , Tua will be raising his competition level and fighting again in about 6 weeks. activity activity ,, Tua is making some serious sacrifices right now, He has a few days with his family and then its back to training camp . Its a mission and goal that David wants to accomplish.. No doubt in my mind he will get it done, its going to take some time , and few more fights 3 or 4 and then its title time . ;)
