Re: Thoughts on Miranda Now
Taylor would KO Miranda, especially the way he literally runs at his opponents when he's been hit hard or with a good combo. If he tried that mess with Taylor he'd walk into a 1-2 that would put him on his backside. If Green wasn't so tentative acting he could have beat Miranda too.

Way off. Wayyyyy off. Taylor, though faulted, is probably stronger than Miranda and if you have piss-poor defense as Miranda does, he will eat shots from Taylor all night until he takes a nap. Taylor's defense is lackluster, but at least he has an awareness of it and he'll clear Miranda out long before he gets tired.
I guess you have missed Taylors last 4-5 fights were he has abandoned his Jab(his bread and butter punch) loses gas about the 8-9th rounds .... Taylor got tired and couldnt wobble a blown up Welterweight in Ouma.. Taylor is no way shape or form Stronger than Miranda period... Hopkins and Wright are both passive aggressive and Ouma was to small to make him pay, Miranda is a relentless Bull that will wear Taylor down..
Re: Thoughts on Miranda Now
As far as Pavlik goes, Miranda will destroy him. He will be an easier fight than Green. Pavlik does not move nearly as well and will be standing there to get hit. It's funny how some say Pavlik is a better boxer with superior skills and will easily on points if it goes the distance. Sounds exactly what people said about Allan Green. The opposite happened, Miranda destroyed Green on points.
Yea, Green got scared and was on his bike. Pavlik will do the same, but he is not nearly as slick and will get caught much earlier in the fight. I really really hope this fight happens. Pavlik has fought nobody in the same league as Miranda. Pantera will be way more than he can handle.

I think that a lot of people fail to realize that Green, like most other opponents that Pantera faces, was not tentative until Miranda hit him in round 1. Once you feel his power is when you become tentative. I really like Jermain Taylor but if you saw the Kassim Ouma fight you'd know that Ouma landed hard and fairly often through Taylor's defense. Taylor was moving back the entire fight. Ouma doesn't hit half as hard as Pantera! he has a good chin, but so does Miranda. If Taylor couldn't floor Ouma, I have a hard time believing that he could put Pantera on the mat.
As far as Pavlik goes, he has heavy hands and a good chin. His defense is mediocre at best and he likes to stand and trade. Even Zertuche hurt Pavlik and he's not known for his overwhelming power. I give the kid all the credit in the world for being tough and a good puncher, however I think Miranda does both a little bit better. At 160 and maybe even at 168, there isn't a fighter in the sport that could stand and trade with Miranda. That is why they all end up back-peddling and eventually on their backs.

Miranda makes physical mistakes (footwork and defense). JT makes both mental and physical mistakes. People act like JT is some superior boxer but he's not. He doesn't keep his hands up, he loses his focus in the middle of rounds, he doesn't use his jab as often and effectively as he should, and his biggest flaw IMO, he's got horrible stamina problems (probably because 160 is getting a little too hard to make now). He gassed against Hopkins and he wasn't doing that much, he gassed against Winky, and he gassed against Ouma. He's a great fighter outside of all that but that's a lot of stuff he needs to correct. All I know is that if he fights Miranda the same way he fought Winky (backing into corners), MIRANDA TKO 6.

JoeCal's got a good chin and how much of Miranda's power will translate from 160 to 168? JoeCal will definitely outwork Edison and use his superior boxing skills to make Edison look a little foolish. But if Edison can throw multiple jabs and work behind a good jab, then it will be a closer fight. I still think JoeCal would take a decision. If Abraham can beat Miranda then JoeCal can too.
Re: Thoughts on Miranda Now
I have to say when i clicked on this thread i didnt expect the response about miranda to be negative as i aswell as many other expected there to be a knock out nd if it was to go the distance i thought green would be the most likely to win as according to most on here he has the better boxing ability nd according to sum more power so i dont understand how some of u dont give him credit as he proved ur predictions wrong. Nd nobody can say ne thing about the weight as they both weighed in as SMW's, nd i think its fair to say his only loss is a controvercial one so i feel he deserves more credit nd he is the sort of fighter thats gonna bring more excitement back into boxing.
Re: Thoughts on Miranda Now
Honestly...
I havnt lost any respect for miranda..
You can only fight as good as you openings and green was just too wary that night...
When youre beconing your opponent to fight.. and asking your opponent to fight..To the point where your taunting him just to fire him up..
And he still doesnt fight.. Your gona be suprised when he hits you with a great combo out of the blue like green did..
In all fairness.. Green didnt come to fight like the match looked on paper..
And props to miranda.. He was still looking to knock sweetness loopy in the last round all the way to the closing seconds..
He landed a scorcher of a right on the bell..!
Peace

Seeing he weighed in at about 174 for his fight against Green, I'd say the power is just as potent and would be plenty effective ;)

Calzaghe could stand and trade with Miranda, Miranda wouldn't be able to touch him. Watch round 5 of Calzaghe Shieka when Sheika decided to go toe to toe.......
Froch could stand and trade and trade with him, lure him in and kill him with an uppercut.
Honestly by the end of his career I expect Miranda to have been knocked out more times than Iran Barkely.
A merciless beatdown is just around the corner for him. He's really overratted.

You can't be serious. Are you trying to compare Bika's punching power with Miranda's? Joe C is a hell of a fighter but Miranda hits harder than Lacy and Bika! I don't understand the lack of respect for Pantera. All this guy does is fight hard and deliver exciting performances everytime out. Seriously Pantera hits so hard if he posted a message on this board he'd probably knock us off our seats.
