well that sounds pretty good to me 4 good names is pretty good in this day and age
4 big names in fourty odd fights is good how? to be getting called a great fighter he needs more than this in my opinion and thats how people are talking about him thats why i don't get it.
e.g Kostya Tszyu W31 L2 D0 and in this record
Mayweather
Rodriguez were'nt bad
Hurtado were'nt bad
Gonzalez
Ruelas
Phillips
Bergman
Mitchell twice
Urkal
Judah
Tackie
and Hatton i suppose now
i make that 12 decent names in 33 fights just a point
nvm his record u tell us how good he is and why ;D
Hatton or Tszyu
hatton - records are not always a true reflection of just how good a fighter is

Old Kosta Tszyu bla bla bla
less fights than Hatton, and no wars!!!!!!!! so why was he 'Old'
Don't remember him being called that before the fight when he was massive favourite and nobody gave Hatton a prayer
i think tszyu was actually pound 4 pound number 2 behind hopkins at the time aswell.

only foughts once in 23 months. so he had a pretty good rest then didn't he!!
Didn't look old in that fight against Mitchell either
Must've just aged overnight before he fought Hatton :-\
Lennox Leis didn't look too old at 35 when he was knocking out Michale Grant - and he had had more fights and harder fights than Tszyu - just one example
He wasn't old, he was just out thought and out strategied!!!
My argument against that is that fighters from lower weights do tend to age quicker. Lewis could fight until his late 30's just fine. He wasnt draining his body each and every fight. And then there is Erik Morales and as great as he was done with at a relatively young age. The lighter weights have the fight taken away quicker, but body conditioning does play its part...

Re: HOW GOOD IS RICKY HATTON?
Preme i just don't think he is that good yes he beat Tszyu and then Maussa a lucky punch champ in my eyes against Harris then he struggled with Collazo then in the second half of the Urango fight he faded badly now after Tszyu he should have wanted more than these guys they had belts but no credability i think he is good but thats it just good i can't help but think im missing what you guys see in him and i want someone to point it out as i said at the begining of this topic please

im far from his biggest fan lol
I think he is overrated to, but in fairness to him maybe this castillo fight will show us something he had and we forgtten, although i doubt it personally. He looked awsome in the tszyu and muassa fight, there were inf airness a few things against him going into the collazo fight and you could see that being a fat ass inbetween his fights caused him troubles in the last half of urango.
Reason i think he is overrated is down to the fact he has no jab and looks for the big punchs to much, he does have good hand speed and footwork, can chance his punches fast, but the his defense is piss poor, something i blame the preacher for rather than ricky tho. He could and would be a much better boxer if he had left graham by now, but sadly i think that boat has saild and i doubt he would even consider going with sum1 else now.

and on ur method of saying that a fightr needs to fight more than 4 big names to be considered greatthen alot of those uv just mentioned were not great themselves
for example judah ??? give me the big names he had fought AT THE TIME HE FOUGHT TSZYU
same with mitchell and tackie and urkal and also u dont just have to fight the big names u have to beqat them to be a big name yourself so give me some big wins from these fighters
also everyone said before the fight that hatton had no chance and that tszyu would destroy him but suddenly when the result had been read out tsyzu had suddenly become old and shot
another factor in my eyes is as follows - tsyzu was a power puncher that was his main selling point and we all know the last thing to go with age is power i could understand if he was a fleet footed fight who ran around for 12 rounds normally but he wasnt
the way i see it is simple hatton had the bravery to get in close were it was risky to be with a puncher like tszyu but he took that risk and it paid off, i admit he hasnt been at his best latly and maybe his lifestyle has caught up with him but i believe its due to lack of challenge the fight with tszyu was rickys best performance and since then i think he hasnt been very motivated but i feel this will change when he fights castillo and the challenge will again bring the best out of him again....

Hitman Hatton , fucking good post old boy well done !!!
Hatton did what nobody else could do at the time and bash KT up outman him take his shots and storm through the breech heroiclly !!!
Here is something for you too chew on doubters .
All fighters have flaws , some get by doing very little KT was one such fighter he was very good at what he did . In his case he was a master of time and distance i dont think in the pros he was an especially hard puncher with quick hands or fast feet but he had a very successfull formula .
You could argue that Zab Judah had faster feet and hands or was a harder puncher with more variety but when push came to shove and crisis reared its ugly head KT stood tall and ZJ fell apart .
Alot of good figthers tried and failed to master KT .
Hatton was the man who got in their an exposed his limitations !!
Hatton had the guts the intelligance and the gameplan to do what needed to be done at the time .
Hindsight is always 20/20
Hatton is a very good fighter no doubt at this juncture we're asking how good something which is asked of every fighter at some stage of their career .
Hatton is standing tall and we'll no in time but in my mind Hatton is one of the best in the world right now .
But even the best get beat .

I agree about what you were saying about Tszyu, noone could match his timing. Both of his losses came from being overwhelmed. Honestly this topic has been run into the ground. About every month or so, the same argument comes up, with the same responses.
