He wasn't robbed. The knockdown should have been counted, undoubtably, but he lost any advantage that gave him by hitting a guy on the floor seconds later, which was deplorable. I though Marquez won it 115-112, I agree the scorecards were insulting but the right man won.
I had Barrera winning, call me biased or whatever but that was a joke of a scorecard and I'm am a little pissed with Golden Boy promotions...cant wait til De La Hoya gets his ass kicked by Floyd..knock him out Floyd ,dont let it go to the cards!!!
Although i agree the score cards r a disgrace i still had marques winning by 3 points in a very close fight but i do also feel that some people on here r just a bit sore about barrera losing. Nd also on boxrec it shows an article which marques say he got knocked down nd also that barrera only landed seven more punches but barrera landed something like 146 powerpunches to marques 195 si frim wot i saw nd have read i thing its the right decision nd i dont think it right to decide who won a fight by wot their faces look like afterwards even though most of the time the loser of the fight is the most marked up of the 2.
I could have swore that Barrera had landed more shot from the compubox numbers, I am talking total shots...I could live with a split decision or even a closer unanimous one, but 118-111 get the f outta here and go back to the Braille institute...BLIND MOFO !!!
I will give Marquez his due, he did land a lot cleaner power punches, and I take nothing away from his great performance. That seventh round crap was a 4 point switch and that hurt alot.Giving Marquez a 10-8 round rather than a 10-8 for Barrera.
The whole fight card was tainted...D-Hop won by way too much and so did De Leon.I mean one judge didnt give Penalosa a single round.The outcomes may have been right, but come on now...
