all the set backs for Lacy , its a real shame.. Jeff is a good guy. if Jeff can get over the rotator injury and work his way back to what he once was I think he would could beat Kessler via ate R stoppage.

Kessler is very good at spinning out once he throws his combinations. I like that a lot. Kessler is a good solid fighter , however he does make some crucial mistakes that a big accurate puncher can capitalize on . I think you got to punch with Kessler. not wait until after he fires ,disrupt Kessler with your own offense and get him to lead with his chin, on his rt hand lead , there are opportunities available , but not without risk. O0

i still think lacy will be a champ again. he needs to get back in the game though because people are startig to forget how good he has looked in the past and are no saying shite like he was overrated right from the start.

Who can Lacy beat though at Supermiddleweight to become champ ?? he can't beat Kessler or Calzaghe and i doubt he can beat any of champs at Lightheavyweight so who do you think he would beat to become champ because im struggling to find any champs at moment he could beat

I think he would Handle Chad Dawson Quite Handily if he gets his Rotator cuff back in order... Chad has showed some vulnerability with his chin ;)

He may as well retire ;D

All we can say with an type of certainty is that he is out of his depth with Calzaghe, We supect that might be the case with Kessler too. There are other options though, for instance I'd fancy a fit Geoff Lacy to beat Clinton Woods.

Well as it has been shown, BCD has shown vulnerability that is true.
He lost that 1 round 10-8 and completely shut out Adamek who at that time was in the top 3 BEST Light Heavys. around.....
Lacy or for that matter any boxer cannot win a fight solely relying on power,
Naz vs. MAB, Gomez vs. Sanchez are 2 quick fights that spring to mind....
BCD is skilled and is only getting better, the knockdowns hes suffered hes recovered well dusted himself off and got right back in there to kicking ass....
I'll keep bringing 'Tito' up as he used to get dropped and or rocked in almost everyone of his early fights but he got up and weathered the storm....
Lacy needs to recover and heal his arm as best as possible a rotator cuff injury is a career ending injury.....

I like the Tito Analogy...The thing is, if Tito ever Knocked down Tito he wouldnt shake it off.. If you catch my drift... if and when Lacy drove a doubledecker left into BCD it aint gonna be no flash knockdown.. But who knows...

judging from his last 2 outings he wont beat kessler at the moment, and JC wont fight him again. but calzaghe has given up the IBF strap that he took from lacy and he wont be sticking around at 168 for too many years in the future anyway. if lacy gets back on his A game he could beat manfredo jr, mundaine, beyer, and bikka. all would put him back up in public opinion.

Mikkel Kessler is a good solid boxer HOWEVER I think his power is a tad overrated....he couldn't KO Mundine, he couldn't even drop Andrade and Mikkel hit him as hard as he could.


Jeff Lacy is a hard worker....he has really had some bad set backs and I think he's going to need time to really be 100% much less get another title shot. I think if Jeff did fight Kessler it would be a good fight and I can't pick one to win either way.

Kessler does do a lot of solid boxing and he has good power....not exceptional power and he does have SOME flaws.....and the power and flaws make Kessler and Lacy a lot alike but Jeff doesn't box very well, he works hard, he doesn't box well.

Chad Dawson is a good fighter, he's going to be good for a long time.

Maybe the flawed power puncher Andre Ward will prove to be a good match up in a few years for those fighters....I never have liked Andre's chin but if his defense and handspeed improve then he can go far.

Hes too one dimensional. But he kind of reminds me of a young Emile Griffith early in his career and he went on to be an all time great. But the difference to me is that Emile almost always fought the best and he had better skill and didnt throw as wide. It all depends on Lacy, but id study some of Griffith fights if i was him and fine tune his style and skill.

Ward is going to be a star. He's looking like a real prospect now. Seen every fight of his career and his last was his best. He had 7 months out of action because of a thumb injury but in that time he stayed in the gym and he really sured up his balance issues which made him look sloppy in times before. He was facing a very imposing fighter in Findley.

He's always had a very nice jab, but he learned to throw the right hand over top and he was very accurate, throwing through the guard of Findley who was in a shell the entire time. He also showed the lead left hook which he punched off beautifully and even jabbed off the hook. Honestly, if it were televised a whole lot of opinions would have been changed on him.

Still, he has some work to do and I want to see how his weight situation plays itself out. He is getting bigger and bigger everytime I see him and he doesn't even lift weights. He says he's going to fight at 168 from here on out and said at the Olympics he was fighting above his weight when he won the gold at 177. Well now it looks like he will end up at 175 in the pro ranks. I don't envision to many problems though. He says he was weight drained for the Findley fight and came in at 165. He fights Thursday night he is coming in at 168. His opponent pulled out last minute which is disappointing since the guy he is facing now will probably just lay down for Ward. Oh well.

If Lacy were to move his head more and develop his jab and right cross then he'd be a complete fighter.


Kessler is a good boxer but I have a feeling if he mixes it up with the wrong power puncher he's going to lose.

Joe Calslappy ruined Lacy. If we're talking "prime" Lacy, Kessler would have a more difficult time than Slappy did (God would have a more difficult time) because he's not quite as nimble and more methodical. He'd be at a greater risk to get caught with a big punch. But I'd take him by a wide UD.
