Re: Rhun's RBR - Ted Bami v Guiseppe Lauri (European Light Welter Title)
Lauri is the one doing the celebrating, but Bami just looks pissed off at the way it went. The Italian promoter is telling people to back off from the judges, and he's grinning like a Cheshire cat. Bami's team look very nervous, but I can't see how he loses.

MAte, the best thing about this guy is the Mullet, and that is truly s**te. This kind of fighter is the type that really winds me up!
Scores:
116-111, 118-112, 117-110; Ted Bami! At least the judges were paying attention. The ref was dreadful, but the result was the right one.
Re: Rhun's RBR - Ted Bami v Guiseppe Lauri (European Light Welter Title)
Trd Bami: " He came in a lot with his head and made it very hard for me. It did unsettle me a luttle because it is the first time I've been cut. The referee did a goo job, but he was answering to Lauri's complaining a lot. I tried to tell him that it was my way of fighting. To be honest I want either Hatton, Witter or M'baye. If they want to make a fight with Young Muttley, but I want the big ones. Thank the lord for my victory."
Johnny Nelson: "You expect this type of treatment if you go to fight in Italy, and the referee was so badly hustled in this one. This is like footballers diving and pretending to be injured in football. The referee was either biased or inexperienced, but he was being hustled. He should go after Young Muttley, and build up his experience."
Ok, not much take-up on this fight, but next we have the comeback of Michael Hunter, having stepped up from Super-bantamweight to Featherweight.
Re: Rhun's RBR - Ted Bami v Guiseppe Lauri (European Light Welter Title)
Michael Hunter returns against Ghanaian journeyman Ben Odamattey. Coverage starts at Round 2, and Hunter showing some good body work to start with. Big right from Hunter, who comes forward with a flurry to the body, and a left hook. Hunter looks much the bigger man, despite stepping up a division. Good left hook from Hunter, then an overhand right. Odamattey with a resonable left hook of his own, but Odamattey being bullkied here by Hunter, with body hooks. Apparently Odamattey was 4 pounds heavier at the weigh in, but doesn't look it. Hunter wins Rd 2.
Round 3:
Odamattey with a left, but Hunter with a hard body shot. Good jab and straight right from Hunter. Nice flurry ofbody shots and hooks with little coming back form Odamattey. The Ghanaian jabbing. Hunter with a pair of left hooks to the body. Nice upercut and straight right. Odamattey throwing a right, but Hunter with the better shots, an uppercut and a hook. He is bleeding from the mouth though. Odamattey with a straight and a jab. Hunter returns with some body shots then a straight right up top. Decent left hook, and Odamattey covers up. ANother Hunter round.
Re: Rhun's RBR - Ted Bami v Guiseppe Lauri (European Light Welter Title)
Round 4:
Good jab from Odamattey, and an overhand right grazing Hunter's chin. Hunter ducking, dipping, dodging, diving and, as the 5 d's say, ducking. Hunter jabbing. Good right hook connects, then a jab from Hunter. Hunter with a left hook, and woring more efficiently. Body hooka from Hunter, and another right hook. Odamattey seems to be swinging blindly. Good right from Hunter, and a hook uppercut gets through too. Straight right then a left to the body, and more jabs. Odamattey with a left on the bell, and even at four rounds, Hunter is in cruise control.
Re: Rhun's RBR - Ted Bami v Guiseppe Lauri (European Light Welter Title)
Round 5:
Two jabs from Hunter. Uppercut and straight right. Hunter dominant. Hunter doing all the work and Odamattey is doign exactly what you expect from his record. Throwing and missing. Hunter with a big flurry with 50 seconds to go. Hunter with some big hooks and body shots, and Odamatty is throwing a hook of his own. They are both looking to trade and Hunter getting much the better of it. Odamatty warned again for throwing after the bell.
Just checked on boxrec, and Hunter conqueror Steve Molitor still hasn't an opponent for the IBF Super-Bantam title, 5 months after winning it. The avoided fighter tag hasn't left Molitor after a good win.
Round 8:
Hunter still the dominant, with body shotsm and a nice stagiht right. Odamattey has a flurry, with his own variation of hooks, and body shots. Odamatty looks tired, but as a bit of a journeyman he'll be used to this. Straight right and jab from Odamattey. After a quiet 30 seconds, Hunter unloads a flurry of hard body shots and a straight right.
Good comfortable comeback fight for Hunter at the new weight, but as the old sayinjg goes, there will be much sterner tests out there for him.
