What Opponent Next For Joe Calzaghe Come And Vote

well according to Frank Warren Kessler has refused his dream fight :-X

Warren said Denmark's WBC and WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler had rejected a summer unification bout.

"Joe's got no problems fighting those guys. Maybe Kessler will rethink or maybe Taylor will take it," he said.

"I spoke to Kessler's promoter Morgen Palle last week, sent him an offer and he sent me a fax back yesterday saying that Kessler won't be ready in July.

"Why, I do not know, because he was calling Joe out after his last fight. But you can't force him to fight. I'd love it to be him because his style really suits Joe.

Yes you do Mr Mick reason why is because i doubt Kessler will be next opponent i think it will be Taylor and would people be more happy with Taylor fight because he has better resume ??

First off nobody can take what Frank Warren says seriously about Kessler refusing the fight in July. The guy's got a bad reputation for only making fights that he wants to make more money from. Calzaghe would fight anybody but his only flaw is that he didn't have motivation to leave Warren like Hatton did.

Calzaghe Vs Kessler would be an exciting fight, Kessler packs a good punch but I've watched his fights and he'd get blitzed by Calzaghe combinations and would likely struggle to get any worthwhile punch off. A lot of people have been saying he's fast but to me he's just a supped up Mario Veit and will be taylor made for a late round stoppage.

Jermain Taylor would be my pick of the lot, he's the man who's beat the man and that's how you get the real recognition in this game.

I agree with a previous comment about Froch probably getting into Calzaghe's head and cause him problems but Calzaghe's ring generalship, savvy, speed, chin and more noticebly stamina far outweighs Froch's.

It's an exciting time for me as a Calzaghe fan but I was near breaking point on giving up on him when they announced Bika and Manfredo Jnr. If he fights anyone less than Froch next time around I will be incredibly dissapointed.

I think Kessler is the only logical choice...make it or I will lose any respect I have for Joe C....getting tired of these champs ducking competition...

it seems everyone else is voting for who they want,ie kessler

I think Kessler is the best choice...most of his fans over there want to see that fight...I don't see him beating Taylor or Winky.

I voted for Froch just coz I want to see his big mouth shut up.


But in terms of Calzaghe's standing in world boxing he should fight Kessler.

From the looks of it, Calzaghe will probably go with stiff opposition along the lines of Diego Corrales.

kessler is the best next fight for calzaghe and alot people want to see that fight.

it's also a unification fight so that makes it better.
