That's a large number...but I do see where your'e coming from...no matter what state Roy was in...he looked good against Prince Badajami ;D & with his mouth running non-stop...the fight would sell mega bucks across the pond...& I'd love to see Roy cross over for the match up.

but if the money thign does break down, 60/40 winner split seems ok...
Your crazy ;)
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
I'd much rather see a real prime fighter go up against Calzaghe, but if Jones Jr is to be the next guy then ive no objections. At least Calzaghe will be staying busy. Im still very wary of anything Jones Jr says so I will be surprised if this comes off.
Calzaghe (hands all blessed) would beat this incarnation of Jones Jr clearly IMO....

Preme is right. Jones Jr needs to realise he cannot command the paydays and prime slots that he once did. He hasnt beaten a top fighter in a long long time now!! Jones Jr is still of course a huge name, but a name that has been somewhat on a slippery slope
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
i really hop jones goes through if calzaghe excepts but calzaghe cant stop jones with his piter patter punches jones got the perfect pnch that i noticed can stop calzaghe ........ the right upprecut czu he leans in and gets wide open ..... jones is faster and way stronger but how will losing the weight effect jones? i could care less bout kessler hes to one demensional theres better fights for calzaghe he needs to fight american stars kinda like jones and if jones stops hes reign its a great feat to his legacy
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
Yes Calzaghe fought in a venue with 35,000 fans but 34,999 came to watch Amir Kahn the other was Frank Warren who has to like Calslappy

He said call him crazy so i did it was a joke
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
I don't really have any interest in this, I don't totally count out Roy, his style could bother Joe but I have no idea what Roy has left. Beating an at best average plodder like Ajamu just didn't show enough to me.
Roy could win but he's gotten into the habit of just laying on the ropes and covering up, especially if you pressure him like Johnson did. I could see Roy spending lots of time on the ropes, covering up with Calzaghe doing those fast slap flurries, even if he isn't landing that much he'll probably just outwork Jones. But who knows, maybe Roy can turn it around but he'd have to stay off the ropes.

That is a fair point then. My apologies.

Fair comments as always, Oumafan :coolclick:
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
And joe will break both hands and will fight shit throughout the fight. His hands are gone.
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
Even at this stage of his career i think Jones has to much for Calzaghe
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
Too much of what..?
Joe would box his head off ;)
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
I don't agree i think if they fought Jones would win even at this stage Jones is 10x better than Jeff Lacy
Re: Jones keen to fill Calzaghe void
Your reason for RJ winning?
JC is faster, fitter, has way less ring rust and a better chin imo.
